"Every trek and adventure lends you a new pair of eyes to see things differently."
The Khir Ganga/Kheerganga trek starts from Barsheni, 9 KMs away from Manikaran. It is not an easy trek, so if you are a new adventurer, try easier
ones to get in tune first, like Triund, Prasher lake, Tosh.
It is a 13 km long trek, and there's no changing mind midway. I am not trying to scare you, but you should be careful. Jump the gun and start early to avoid a night trek. Hiking without light is extremely tough, and you know the thing with the phone battery; it will ditch you when you need it the most.
While trekking, you will spot signs and quotes (some are in this post) which are helpful. They keep you motivated and show you the right path. Moreover, when you start trekking, you will always be accompanied by a dog. Not to bark or harm you, so please don't get scared witless if you're not a dog lover. But you should follow your canine companion as its motive is to keep you on the right track. You might find it strange right now, but you'll know when you see it for yourself.
Carry some chocolates and coffee sachets with you for the trek. Chocolates are your friend while trekking and drink black coffee when exhausted. You'll be as peppy as popeye after spinach. There are some tea and Maggi stalls on the way where you can rest and enjoy some snacks.
At night the sky is clear, and it is the best place for stargazing. Cold weather, bonfire, slow music, and twinkling stars, what else do you need?
When you're in the tent, don't forget to zip it properly or be ready for a dog to accompany you at night (yes, we got their company) 😆. Again, they won't harm you but sleep and snore, although the thought of him being with you in the tent might keep you awake the whole night.

And, and, and... don't forget to click pictures and share them with us.
