At 21, I started working as an engineer in this big company in Manila, Philippines. At 25, I experienced my first international trip as a solo backpacker to Malaysia. Anyways, it's the last week of our regular classes this week for the first semester so I'm getting a class photo of my kids!

One of the notable places to see in Kanchanaburi province is this charcoal-colored bridge built during WW2 in the 1940s.

I was told a lot of people had died while building this bridge. Quite haunting if you think about it😢

There is a railway train that passes onto this bridge around noon and that's something people look forward to for photo op.

Wiki says this is the tallest stupa (hemispherical structure usually containing buddhist relics) in the world towering to a height of 120 meters. It is also considered the oldest stupa in Thailand.

🇹🇭 What's your favorite Thai word (or expression)?

Currently, my favorite Thai expression is "จริงหรอ" 😂. I used this in my daily convo with my Thai mates (all the time).

จริง (jing) หรอ (lor) - this means like "really?!!!"

Today, we are celebrating the Thai Language Day at school. I just like this pic of me wearing this Thai-looking shirt so why not post it.

Here are some pics from today's "water fights" in action at Banbueng district in Chonburi province, Thailand! 🇹🇭

You probably would be asking why the heck there is still water fights happening when Songkran festival is ...technically over! Like that's over a week ago, right?

I don't know about y'all but here in Chonburi province, we have the so-called after-party Songkran!

Other famous districts of Chonburi that participate to this after-party festival are Bangsaen (Apr16-17), BangPhra (Apr18), and Pattaya (Apr19).

And the last one on its schedule is in Banbueng! (But definitely not the least.) That's today--April 23rd!!!

Located around 15km from Chonburi city, I took my chance coming here with a friend. And I definitely had a great time!

Weather is hot! Sun is scorching! But the water that these people are splashing are ice cold!

Khao Chi Chan, also known as Buddha Mountain, is located some 24km from Pattaya City downtown.

Today, I took the railway train from Chonburi City to Yanasangwararam station (the closest train station to this mountain) which only costs me 14 bath! That's 75km apart! 🚂

From Yanasangwararam, the mountain is about 6km far which can be reached by motorbike or taxi!

I would recommend people coming here to use "Bolt" app in hailing a motorbike or taxi because they're super cheap. Cheaper than Grab. In my case, I only paid 66 baht for a taxi. Motorbike would be around 45baht but aren't available when I was about to book.

PS: I think somehow Grab doesn't work in Pattaya. So Bolt is a really good alternative!

Coming from the beach, here is one of attacks I had to go through in walking down the sidewalk! I can't really escape them since they're on my way so why not film it and see if I can make it through without getting myself wet.

As expected, I didn't make it!

I kept shouting "nidnoi nidnoi" which means "just a little!" but it's SONGKRAN! Love them or just love them! 😂

So go out, have fun and get yourself wet! 💦😂😂😂. After all, it's the famous Songkran festival of Thailand! 😘😘🇹🇭

It's my 3rd year today in Thailand! My. Third. Freakin'. Year! 🇹🇭

Time really does fly quickly when you're having fun! Doesn't it?

I remember back in 2019 on my last day in the corporate, one of my pinoy bosses asked me which country abroad I'd like to live in or settle in (since I'm all for travels), and I actually said "Thailand."

I was being specific with Chiang Mai province because in my mind I wanted to experience and be part of the booming digital nomadism there. But it wasn't really in my plan AT ALL!

Little did I know, the pandemic of 2020 would unknowingly lead me to Thailand and make my nomad thing come true! But with a twist!!!

For the first two years in Thailand, I was in nomading mostly the north and northeastern region of Thailand!

I've kicked off my first year in Sakhon Nakhon province, celebrated my second year in Khon Khaen province! And there I am today breathing the air in Chonburi province!

🎉 🎉🎉

PS: If you're on your journey to Pattaya beach (which is also part of Chonburi province), please do make a short stop in the city of to see this magnificent landscape of Chonburi's Grand Canyon complete with breathtaking view of cliffs and its green-blueish water.

There was actually a 200-baht entrance fee for foreigners entering Pattaya's Floating Market. It's free for Thai nationals!

Dual pricing, I know! ☹️

Since I was the only foreigner alongside these amazing people in the Math Department, I think I heard someone said "Dan can probably enter without the lady guard noticing as long as he's with us." Because I look like Thai, don't I? Hehe

But that wouldn't work because the guard would check the ID one by one upon entrance! 😂

So one of my mates said "don't worry, we'll charge yours to Math Dep't!"

Been doing calisthenics for over half a year now (on and off though) together with gym's weight training. So far so good! Working out is one of things I did to cope with boredom and depression to some extent as well as my nomadic lifestyle during the covid times.

Boat Racing happening today along the Mekong River! 📍 Vientiane, Laos

That exact moment of crossing the Thailand-Laos border along the Mekong River via railway train from Nong Khai station to Thanaleng station. Nong Khai (border town in Thailand) Thanaleng (border town in Laos) 🚂🚂🚂 >> Nong Khai to Thanaleng >> 15 minutes >> 20 baht

Bangkok’s road traffic is really bad on a Friday night so I decided so take the BTS metro train instead of my usual love for buses! 😆 So here is a clip of the train arriving at Phra Khanong station. And in case you are missing the train in Bangkok—let me just say “Satanni Topai Satanni”. 😜 Does this ring a bell?

Pigeons are all over the place here at the famous Thaphae Gate of Chiangmai. I will miss you, ChiangMai! 🥺 PS: I was just randomly passing by the Thaphae today and said to myself ‘why not take some pics today a day before I leave this city.’ Hope everyone is having a pinky Wednesday just like me! 🌸 😛
