What a beautiful morning it was. After spending the previous 12 hrs fogged in and kegged up in my car, I was so nice to see the sun and feel its warmth on my skin. I love these mountains! How about you? Likes, shares, and comments are greatly appreciated.

Most of my 3 days in the Craggy Garden area of the parkway last week were spent in the fog. I took advantage and was happy to capture many of these forest scenes. This image has all of the elements I was looking for: wind swept grass, spring greens, and an inviting singletrack trail leading off into the fog. Plus, I really wanted one of these fresh ferns in the composition. Such a mystical scene. I hope you enjoy it! Give my page a like if you haven't already!

River rafting through these family-friendly Class II-III rapids is a mild but exciting adventure. The Nantahala features eight miles of practice on easy Class II rapids before splashing through the exciting Class III whitewater of Nantahala Falls.Fully guided trips are available starting in early March of each year; this video was filmed in April.

Convergence, Western North Carolina

This is a five image vertical panoramic. The Shoal and Indian creek's converge together just after falling over this semi-circular ledge near Rosman North Carolina. This is located on the property of the Living Waters Ministry. What an amazing location for a spiritual retreat and what a beautiful day! Highway to Heavens, The Blue Ridge Mountains of NC

You are looking at the Sagittarius arm of our Galaxy. The dark band in the middle is known as the Great Rift. It is a collection of dust clouds located between our Solar System and the Milky Way that blocks out our view of the Galactic Core. This Dark Rift has been observed for thousands of years and has had many mythical strings attached to it in that time. The Mayans called it the mouth of the cosmic monster. When i look at it, I feel small but connected. I am reminded of just how big and amazing our creator is. We are a part of something unimaginably big and complex and I find comfort in that! This is a single 13 second exposure. I used my headlamp to paint the foreground with light and processed it through Adobe Camera Raw and CS6. If you like this image, please share and comment!

This image was taken from the Boone Fork trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway last fall. The Lynn Cove Viaduct can be seen snaking around the base of Grandfather Mountain in the distance.
