Get your shore birds at Sea Rim State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife on Oct. 12, World Migratory Bird Day. Make sure you see the colorful beauties down the road at Sabine Woods.

Have you seen a pop of color like this? World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) is Saturday, Oct. 12 and City of Port Arthur has read a resolution to call attention to birds as they pass through our area. Sabine Woods is a famous local site the fuels birds for their journeys north in spring and south in fall. Protect Insects, Protect Birds is the theme for Thanks to Dania Sanchez of Golden Triangle Audubon Society - GTAS and Texas Ornithological Society for this image.

Turtles!!!!

It’s World Turtle Day! A visitor came across this sea turtle on the beach a while ago. Do you know what to do if you come upon a sea turtle like this? Have no fear, the Sea Turtle Stranding and Salvage Network is here! If you find a nesting, sick, injured, stranded, or dead sea turtle, please contact the network through their hotline at 1-866-TURTLE5 (866-887-8535). They help turtles like this one get the veterinary help and rehabilitation they need to return to the Gulf and live their best turtle lives!
