First make an appointment @ Usps.com

The form you’ll need is a DS-11 filled out in BLACK ink only! (Yes fill out the information about your parents on the second page!) If you filled out the form online, PRINT AND BRING TO APPOINTMENT(some people don’t).

Bring your STATE ID OR DRIVERS LICENSE NOT YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD & bring your birth certificate (can’t be laminated,torn,taped together or stained).
If you are applying for a minor(15 and younger)Mom and Dad must be present if they are on the birth certificate. If there is a special circumstance(ex. jail,deceased, or not present in child’s life we will provide you with further instruction)16 and older only one parent needs to be present.

IF you plan on flying out of the country you WILL need a passport book ($130) , a passport card is ($30 and you can only drive in and out of Canada /Mexico/ Some seaports). usually about 8-10 weeks if you need it faster expedited fee is an additional $60 (4-6 weeks) All to be made out to the Department of State on a check or money order. The processing fee for the post office /or court house is $35 (separate fee). Picture fee is $15.

Not only will you save money, but you'll also have your pick of dates and times. And if you're traveling with young children, it's always best to have your plans firmly in place well before the chaos of the holidays descends.

2️⃣ Make a List—and Check It Twice

Okay, so you might not be Santa Claus, but making a list is still an essential part of preparing for holiday travel. Start by making a list of everything you'll need to pack—clothes, toiletries, medications, etc.—then check it off as you go. It's also a good idea to make copies of important documents like your passport and driver's license, just in case you lose them while you're away from home. And speaking of documents…

3️⃣ Get Your Papers in Order

Some countries require that visitors obtain a visa before they enter, while others allow travelers to apply for a visa upon arrival. No matter what the requirements are, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to complete the necessary paperwork; there's nothing worse than being denied entry because your paperwork isn't in order!
