These intimate photographs of the Himalayan Lynx were taken in Pakistan. Captured feasting on a freshly hunted markhor in Chitral Valley, these images give us the closest look yet into the predatory behaviour of this highly elusive big cat of Pakistan’s northern mountains. Almost exclusively a nocturnal hunter, it took a fine combination of patience, powerful telescopic lenses and a serious stroke of luck for our photographer, supported by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Wildlife Department, to capture this incredible moment.
