অস্ত্রের চেয়ে শিক্ষার শক্তি বেশি।
মার্ক করা ব্যক্তি হলেন জর্জ ম্যাকলরিন যিনি ১৯৪৮ সালে ওকলাহোমা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ভর্তি হওয়া প্রথম ব্যাক পুরুষ, তাকে তার সহপাঠীদের থেকে দূরে এক কোণে বসতে বাধ্য করা হয়েছিল।

কিন্তু কলেজের সেরা তিন শিক্ষার্থীর একজন হিসেবে সম্মানের তালিকায় তার নাম রয়ে গেছে।

এই তার কথা:

''কিছু সহপাঠী আমার দিকে এমনভাবে তাকালো যেন আমি একটা পশু, কেউ আমার সাথে কথা বলে না, শিক্ষকদের জন্য আমার অস্তিত্বও ছিল না, তারা খুব কমই আমার প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়। আমি নিজেকে এতটাই উৎসর্গ করেছি যে আমার সতীর্থরা আমাকে খুঁজতে শুরু করার পরে এবং শিক্ষকরা আমাকে বিবেচনা করা শুরু করে। আমি তাদের কাছে অদৃশ্য হওয়া বন্ধ করে দিয়েছি।"
