After speaking to the client overseas for the first time, the clock started ticking. 27 days to move-in, from furniture to bed linens! A masculine aesthetic was created for the house, and the client's love of fly-fishing and the beauty of western states Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana was reflected in the selection of furniture, materials, and accessories (such as the vintage posters of western US national parks). In the living room, armchairs with leather straps and metal legs were a fun addition, as was a vintage Hendredon side table. A lucky find were the mid-century Inger Klingenburg chairs that can be used with both the dining and breakfast tables. Other mid-century pieces were used throughout, such as the Danish night tables lacquered dark blue in the master bedroom and the clean-lined dresser in the son's bedroom. A leather club chair and leather nailhead chest add to the masculine feel in the den, and warm colors connote the warmth found around a fire out west. In the office, a nod was made to the client's love of music with bowls and bookends made from vinyl record albums. Serene blues are used in the master bedroom and son's bedroom; in the son's bedroom a print of the Raleigh greenway by local artist Autumn Cobeland points to new outdoor adventures to explore.

A unique space - an old cotton mill, now outfitted with hardware and fixtures. This old warehouse surely did not have soaking tubs and working shower head and faucet displays in its earlier life! So glad these spaces are being repurposed in downtown Raleigh.
