Ready for the adventure of a lifetime? I invite you to join me on a small group trip to Iran next spring. Or if you prefer, I can help you plan your own private tour, with an itinerary customized to your interests. (All American travelers are required to be accompanied by an Iranian guide, with an itinerary approved in advance, but private tours can be arranged for as few as one or two people.)

Iran is a very safe country for tourists to visit, and the Iranian people are very welcoming towards visitors – and especially Americans.

You’ll see some amazing archaeological sites, like Persepolis; some stunning architecture – like the mosques and palaces of Naqsh-e-Jahan Square in Isfahan; and some magnificent gardens, like the Fin Garden in Kashan. And you’ll enjoy a lot of delicious Persian cuisine. But for most Americans who visit Iran, the most memorable part of their trip is the friendliness of the ordinary Iranians you’ll meet.

If there is sufficient interest, I would like to schedule my next escorted tour for either March or April of 2024. Lots can happen between now and then, so we are going to take things one step at a time. You’ll have lots of time to monitor events and decide whether the trip is right for you. Most of the cost of the tour isn’t payable until you arrive in Iran, and we won’t book our flights until a month or so before departure.

Are you interested in a tour to Iran this fall?
I'm planning my next tour tentatively for October 14-27 - but early November is also possible, if enough travelers prefer a later departure. If you are interested, it would help me a lot if you would take this three-minute survey: https://forms.gle/gNhUMjZThuDnMX918. Or just send me a message.

We'll need to submit our visa applications by early August, so you still have some time to monitor events and decide whether the trip is right for you. Because of sanctions, most of the cost of the tour won't be payable until you arrive in Iran.

This much is certain: the Iranian people want you to visit. "I have never felt more welcome as an American anywhere, ever," Diane Richard of Minneapolis told me after our tour.

Among the tour highlights:
We'll explore Iran's culinary riches, from fine dining establishments to street food and modest neighborhood eateries. All meals are included in the tour price, and though most meals will be served family-style, we'll order anything on the menu that people want to try. We’ll also try to schedule at least one dinner in the home of an Iranian family.
We'll see some amazing archaeological sites, like Persepolis; some stunning architecture - like the mosques and palaces of Naqsh-e-Jahan Square in Isfahan; and some magnificent gardens, like the Fin Garden in Kashan, but we will also seek out opportunities to get to know ordinary Iranians and see how they live, work and play.
We'll spend a few days in a region that few foreign tourists visit: Iran's lush green north, along the Caspian sea.
The exact price of the tour will depend on a number of factors, including the size of the group and the exchange rate, but for a group of 8-10, it should be approximately $2250, including 4* hotels (double room occupancy), all transportation in Iran, all meals and all entrance fees. (All details subject to change.)
Not included are airfare from Minneapolis ($1000-$1500), travel insurance (optional, price varies) single room occupancy (+$250), visa ($120), gratuities for our driver and guide, and any optional unscheduled opportunities that may present themselves.

If enough people are interested, I will schedule an informal Zoom gathering (or two) where you'll have a chance to meet other prospective travelers, and share any special interests or activities you would like to see included in the final itinerary. The next step will be to apply for a visa authorization through our travel agency in Shiraz (no charge).
At that point, I will ask you for a deposit, refundable if the trip is canceled, your visa application is rejected, or we can find someone else to take your place.

Questions? Feel free to ask, and I will respond as quickly as I can. You can also check the FAQ page on my website, IranToursForAmericans.com.
And feel free to share this post with anybody who might be interested.

"This was the trip of a lifetime. We visited jaw-dropping sights, ate at interesting restaurants, stayed at great hotels, and were led by smart and dedicated guides who bent over backwards to accommodate each individual's wishes."
Tim Alevizos, Minneapolis, Minnesota

"This was one of our most remarkable travel experiences in a lifetime of travel. The warmth and love offered by the Iranian people was overwhelming and well beyond expectations. The history and the architecture are amazing, but, for no other reason, GO for the opportunity to spend time with these incredible people." Marcia and Greg Potvin, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

"To a person we all felt this tour was one of the top (if not the top) travel experience of our lives. The logistics, food, internal travel, hotels were all good or great. Take This Trip; You'll Be Amazed. P.S.: it's an amazing value compared to any other guided tour I've seen."
Phil Deering, Minneapolis, Minnesota

I'm planning my next tour tentatively for early October - but other dates are possible, if enough travelers prefer an earlier or later departure. Or if you would rather book your own private tour for 1-3 people, I would be happy to put you in touch with a reputable travel agency in Iran. (Americans are required to have an approved guide and itinerary.) Email me at [email protected] if you are interested.

I'm planning my next tour tentatively for early October - but other dates are possible, if enough travelers prefer an earlier or later departure. Or if you would rather book your own private tour for 1-3 people, I would be happy to put you in touch with a reputable travel agency in Iran. (Americans are required to have an approved guide and itinerary.)

These are very uncertain times in Iran, so we are going to take things one step at a time. You'll have lots of time to monitor events and decide whether the trip is right for you. Most of the cost of the tour won't be payable until you arrive in Iran.

October is a long ways away, and I won't need definite commitments from you until this summer. The main purpose of this email is to get you thinking about Iran before you commit to other plans. But if you are even maybe interested, it would be helpful if you sent me a note. Ditto if you definitely aren't interested.

Questions? Feel free to ask, and I will respond as quickly as I can. I love to talk about Iran. You can also check the FAQ page on my website, IranToursForAmericans.com.
And please forward this post to anybody who might be interested.
