A stunning boat trip on the Mekong on our first full day in Laos! 🇱🇦 we travelled out of Luang Prabang to the Pak Ou caves. Home to many Buddha statues and a place of pilgrimage for many Lao people.

We climbed up to the top cave and had it all to ourselves! Gongs included!

We headed back to town just in time to enjoy sunset on the river! With a cold Lao beer 🍺

Just gorgeous!!

Have you heard of the hero rats? We visited the Apopo rat training centre in Siem Reap and got to see these amazing creatures in action!

The rats are trained in Tanzania and can detect TNT up to 1 metre away and because they are only 1-1.5kgs they don’t detonate any mines they discover. They have cleared countless fields, farms, villages and saved thousands of lives across Cambodia .

Cambodia has been savaged by civil war and by bombing during the Vietnam way - and many uncleared areas remain. And sadly kids are often the victims of these unexploded mines.

Welcome to Cambodia! We have a fabulous group of women travelling together to explore for the next 8 days. And we’ve had an action packed first couple of nights getting our bearings in Phnom Penh.

We visited the National Palace, and had lunch at a social enterprise called Lotus Blanc. Lots of traumatic history to learn about during the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975-1979, including visiting the Killing Fields and S-21.

We took a cyclo ride along the riverfront to War Phnom and got our fortunes told!!

So much fun and the trip has only just begun!!

Châu Đốc is along the Mekong river right on the border with Cambodia! We loved our stay there at the beautiful Victorian Nui Sam Lodge :) Plus getting to boat along the river, visit a Cham village, see the floating villages and fish farms and eat more delicious fruit and local foods!

Our first day in the Mekong in Can Tho! Up early for the floating markets! We had coffee and coconuts delivered to our boat and ate noodles and pineapple 🍍 on board!

We did a lantern making workshop today in Hoi An! And who knew that craft was fun!! 🤩

We’ve all got a beautiful lantern to take home 😊 what a perfect rainy day activity!

First day of our Vietnam trip! We’re in beautiful Hoi An - exploring the historic old town, trying street food in the market, meeting a family that has been making a black sesame soup for centuries! Including their 100 year old mother! Having not one but two bánh mì! 😋
