Sadly Violence Against Dragons is never that far away. While this dragon is luckily not actually being impaled, it is clearly in a defensive pose and not playing with the gentleman on the horse. Spotted at the Guildhall Art Gallery's exhibition on gold and silver thread embroidery. We reported this incident to a Guildhall museum guard who did not seem to understand the issue with this animal cruelty. We may escalate to the proper authorities if needed.

Rarrrr! Urban dragons are opportunists when it comes to food, so our expert dragon-twitchers were not surprised to spot this beautiful golden dragon nesting outside Sha-Xian on Museum Street. We're sure the dragons appreciate any delicacies dropped or thrown out in bin-bags after the working day has ended. Urban dragons are a lot like urban foxes.

Rarrrrr! Dragons love nesting in ornate surroundings, so we weren't very surprised to spot four dragons (likely two breeding pairs) making themselves at home on the Lord Mayor of London's State Coach, at London's Guildhall.

Rarrrrrr!

This delightful terracotta camouflage nester was spotted in Sloane Square Gardens by Twitter user Middletonfox & brought to our attention by . It appears to be one of the 'feline' subspecies (obviously not really felines, but look a bit like them).

The exact location is not being made public for fear of which sadly, is something we have to be extra vigilant about at this time of year. (Don't even get us started on April 23rd, ).

Very bad luck for this pigeon to stop by a site which is so densely packed with dragons.

This was spotted at the bottom of Walthamstow Market/St James Street. We've observed this flock before, but never seen them in stalking prey before.

A temporary flock of red Asiatic dragons spotted at a TK Maxx store in East London. We're not clear what foodsource tempted them, but odds are once the related food stock is sold, these dragons will fly off of their own accord. Unless, that is, these guys have developed a taste for scented candles. If that happens: we have tips on humane pest control services with training in fantastic animals. Please get in touch so our experts can support.

Continuing the theme from our previous dragons, Twitter user LiamJHogan has brought these other library-dwelling dragons to our attention (shared initially by Blackheath Library). The dragon in the first picture appears to be licking the books which, while unhygienic, does demonstrate a heartwarming level of enthusiasm for literature.

Continuing our underground theme: this dragon was spotted nesting in Leake Street Tunnel, underneath Waterloo Station.

We have heard reports of multiple different species of dragon being spotted in this habitat before, but they usually migrate out of the area again just as fast. Our researchers are currently looking into the possible causes of this phenomenon.

More dragons spotted on London's tube network, though the dragon-twitcher who sent this in forgot where exactly they'd spotted it. This dragon is quite an exciting blue variation on the classic ddraig goch, or Welsh red, which can be seen across the United Kingdom (though obviously the densest populations are in Wales). This one seems to have found a little home from home in this Swansea University poster. Beautiful!

What a beauty! This lovely green dragon was spotted at Tower Hill tube station today. In fact, this beautiful dragon is aptly nesting on a poster which is encouraging people to surround themselves with beauty.

Our researchers were very excited to spot this species which was first recorded in the Netherlands, circa 1500, by Hieronymus Bosch.

Transparent dragons are notoriously difficult to spot - but in this case it's clear (no pun intended) what this cheeky dragon has been imbibing. (See wider shot for context.)

Dragons can metabolise alcohol without getting *particularly* drunk, as they convert it to fuel for all that fire-breathing. 🔥

Obviously is a very difficult time for many of us in the dragon-twitching community. Please remember that just because is apparently 'traditional', that doesn't make it acceptable. Please all look after yourselves, report any violence against dragons to the appropriate authorities, & if you're why not share your favourite dragons - in the wild or representations in popular media - to help reverse these horrible stereotypes.

We love how these two dragons, & their circular nests, seem to echo each other. On the left: a Welsh Red dragon nesting in stained glass in the House of Lords, on the right: a tiny black Asian dragon, nesting on a bottle top in the gutter outside our founder's home.

There is something extremely democratic about dragons: they nest in palaces & pubs, churches & Chinese restaurants, graffitied alleys & Grade I listed stately homes.

In conclusion: DRAGONS!

The adult has taken the higher up 'lookout' position while their young stay closer to the ground. These young pups may not yet be fully confident flying - keep your eyes peeled and let us know how they get on.

Please note that - contrary to popular depictions in media - not all dragons like giving piggyback rides.

This disgruntled dragon was spotted by Instagram user Lee, who says:

"I found this dragon on the coat of arms of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, on the gates of the Chelsea Physic Garden, Chelsea Embankment.

The Apothecaries coat of arms show Apollo, the God of Healing standing over the dragon of disease. And a rhinoceros at the top whose horn it was believed had many medical properties."

Absolutely fantastic!

Three dragons spotted on Northey Street, Limehouse! There is a strong resemblance between them all, so our experts believe this is a family: the adult has a golden coat & is on lookout, while the smaller young have more muted colours & are nesting lower down, out of the wind.

Happy Friday, folks! Here are some Finsbury Park dragons, nesting on a residential address between Upper Tollington Park & Oakfield Road.

Dragons on residential buildings tend to go for the roof, so these are unusually tame/bold/cheeky dragons. Not sure if they're in the midst of a turf war with the birds.

These were sent in by a keen amateur dragon-twitcher called Maggie.
