Sally Goes Traveling Alone—a book my grandmother had, and when she passed, it was given to me. A small yet powerful reminder that we, as women, are capable of venturing into the world on our own. That independence is something to be embraced, not feared.
My grandmother was, and still is, an inspiration to me. She never backed down—she followed her heart, lived and traveled solo in Japan, and danced without a care for who was watching. She lived boldly, fully, and unapologetically. And I know I carry her spirit within me.
Holding this book now, I think about all the journeys I’ve taken—the ones that challenged me, healed me, and shaped me into the woman I am today. And I think about all the women who have gone before us, paving the way, showing us that solo travel isn’t about being alone—it’s about discovering ourselves in the most profound way.
She is a piece of SOUL/O. Her fearless, adventurous heart is woven into everything I do, and I feel deeply grateful to honor her in this journey.
Here’s to the women who wander, who dare to step into the unknown, and who find their strength in the journey. 💛
