A really lovely walk today around Rowen, in Conwy, led by Janet along the riverside, through fields and a few hills, along tracks and visiting a 13th century church, St Mary's at Caerhun along the route. Thanks Jan for a lovely walk, 5.5 miles and about 596ft of ascent. Beautiful weather, cold to start with but it warmed up. 9 walkers in total, and hot chocolate and other drinks in The Groes, on the way home.

Our walk this week was around Llandudno, Llanrhos and Deganwy. Walking towards llandudno hospital and by the side of Maes Ddeu Golf course up to the tower which shows us the serious risk to our coastline in the 17th centrury from the Barbary pirates. Similar towers were built in Abergele, Whitford and Llandrillo yn Rhos. From thee we waled through fields and woods to St David's college across field to Bodysgallen Hall and back along more tracks, fields to Deganwy Castle and down along the coastal path to the start.

A day out in Tatton Park, 13 of us travelled from North Wales to Cheshire in the most horrendous weather but with Bob at the wheel, we all felt very safe. As we arrived the rain eased off and it wasn’t too bad.
5 of us went to find our guide for a visit to the Japanese Garden whilst the others went for a coffee and then a walk around the grounds. After the guided tour which was brilliant, the colours out of this world and the information from the guide very informative we went for lunch and a drink and met the others in the café.
After lunch we went round the Mansion, then some went in the gardens, some went looking at the shops and we all ended back in the café for coffee before leaving for home. Some great photos and great company. A lovely social day out.
The Egerton family has owned Tatton Park since 1598. Over the decades after then, it has been enhanced and expanded.
The Shah of Persia and Crown Price of Siam in the 1890s and their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1887 were arguably the most well-known guests it has hosted. When Lord Maurice Egerton passed away in 1958, his greatest gift was to leave the Mansion and Gardens to the National Trust. During the war, Tatton Park served as the training ground for the No. 1 Parachute School, from which more than 383,000 parachute descents were made.

Our walk today around Llanrwst and over the suspension bridge by the railway station, towards Trefriw then into the woods towards Gwydir Chapel, over fields and along the riverside towards the car park. Afterwards we walked into the town centre and went to a cafe for coffee and cake which seems to be a regular occurrence now. We had cake off Sylvia at the start a gorgeous almond and cherry cake with our coffee off Bob. Photos by Jackie and Caryl.

A great time walking in the Trough of Bowland with a group from CWH. 9 of us taking part in this lovely area of Lancashire. First of all around Barley, Pendle Hill area then Tolkien's Trail from Hurst Green and the last day should have been Stock's Reservoir, but unfortunately the weather was so bad, we took off to Skipton where the weather was sunny with a slight wind. We visited the market, Castle and of course the coffee shops, before returning to the Mytton Fold Hotel where they looked after us for 4 days.

A lovely walk today led by Janet. 10 of us walking the long walk of 6 miles and 813ft of ascent. From Capel Curig along the slate trail to Betws y Coed. 1 person who shall remain unnamed joined the shorter walk which due to the weather plan B came in action and they walked along the main road as the rocks on the footpaths were greasy and slippy. So 4 did this walk. Bob kindly did the driving. Photos by Jackie, Lin and Caryl.

16 of us started out today on our walk led by Janet and starting from the Loggerheads Country park over tracks and footpaths around Ffrith Mountain and back to the cafe at Loggerheads. A pleasant day for walking not too hot and no rain. Not many photos I'm afraid too busy looking at the lovely views.
