20 people turned out today for this 10 mile walk around Llangollen. It was a walk of babies today. Starting from the Chain Bridge car park we walked passed Valle Crucis Abbey and then along part of the Clwydian Way, Climbing up above the Offa's Dyke path on the panorama with views of Castell Dinas Bran we followed the lower path down to the canal and walked back to the Chain Bridge. The babies I referred to earlier, was the new born foal, we must have missed it by 10-15 mins, it was still trying to find its feet and the placenta was still hanging from the mother. Then when we were coming back along the canal we saw a duck with her 8 ducklings swimming along. Just beautiful. Thanks to Bob W for leading, Martin for driving and Jackie for the photos. Mike took some and I'm sure we will see them later. The day started out fine, and we were stripping layers off climbing up to the tops, but then the fleeces came back on and very shortly after the waterproofs as the rain came in and shortly before we got back to the vehicles, the heavens opened and we got drenched.

Our lovely walk today to Hilbre Island and back, then fish and chips at a brilliant café then another walk before leaving for home. About 7 miles today, led by Bob Webster with 20 walkers in toe. Hilbre Islands are an archipelago consisting of three islands at the mouth of the estuary of the river Dee. They are a local nature reserve and a site of special scientific interest. Along the way we saw grey seals some basking on the sea and some in the sea.
Our walk today led by Janet Eckersall, one she did in January this year, but we had to shorten because of the weather. 10 walkers took part on this very hot but beautiful day. I've done a slideshow for you with the photos as a change, I'd be pleased to know what you think. Album or slideshow?
