Next Travel we design is about “WASHOKU”. We will invite the one who is or want to be a chef of Japanese Cusine, and introduce the master of WASHOKU.

We are looking for someone...
* who wants to open a Japanese restaurant in the future
* who has never been to Japan
* who has been training as a Japanese chef for more than 3 years
* a healthy young person in the 20-30s

Conditions for application
* Full attendance of the filming trip from July 16th to 23rd, 2019
* Fluency in English or Japanese
* Cooperation with the filming of the documentary

Conditions for the filming trip
* All expenses related to the filming, including the flight ticket to Japan, transportation, accommodation, food, etc. will be paid by Travel Design.
* All personal expenses during free time and off days will be paid by the traveller.

UGO ABROAD-Experienced Story from Thai Student-
Coming to Japan for the first time excited me a lot and it was very challenging.
Because we speak a little English and Japanese.
It was a great opportunity and gave us a whole new experience.
Even we spent a short time in Ugo, but we were very touched by a warm welcome. People are very friendly, the the town is a real nice Japanese town.

The host family told us to call them father and mother. They took great care of us like their own family members. We are very impressed with warm accommodation. We learn about the way of life, culture and the food. We learn how to make Soba noodles and Mochi. Very delicious.

People taught us Japanese words. We learnt and memorized many words and tried saying them to Japanese people. I could learn some useful Japanese words in short time.

If I can stay longer in Ugo, I am sure I will be able to speak more Japanese because I can use Japanese in any situation here.

Thanks for all to give us this great opportunity and thank to myself for being brave enough to join this trip. It is a very valuable experience. Even for a short time ,but happy every time I think about it. You have to visit Ugo and you will love this town like I do.

Snow Monkey Park in Nagano

【Akita people, Matagi spirit】
The Matagi are traditional hunters of the Tohoku area of Japan. The history of Matagi can be traced back to Heian period. They don’t like commercial hunters without any regulation to hunt. Matagi respects everything from mountains. They have some specific hunt ceremonies, and appease the soul of prey. Every time if they come back safely and have harvest, they will thank the gods of mountain who give them bless. The Matagi culture gradually declines because the master and disciples relationship. The experience and custom are only taught orally.
