Just had a professional photo shoot done by Svetlana Leahy Photography. I’ll be posting a few pictures soon, once I get them up on VRBO/AirBnB. The photos up on those sites now are over five years old, before any improvements.

Here is a drone video from the shoot, showing overhead views of the property.

Drone overhead of the four-acre property of Love Point Idyll, including house, grounds, pond with dock, private beach, fire pit areas at house and beach. Kay...

I've lost track of how many pieces Schoenbauer Furniture Service, Inc. has worked for us, at both our primary home and at Love Point Idyll. They are amazing. I tend to be extremely demanding of high quality standards and craftsmanship, and they have exceeded them each and every time.

The family that owned the LPI house back in the 1940s booked a rental, and were kind enough to send this picture. I believe this is taken from the northeast side of the house. Many changes, since.

You can see the stone construction, forged from oyster shells and lime, which was later covered over with a brick facade.

This is before the addition of the sun room, mud room, front porch, and two screened porches, and expansion of the basement under the sun room.

Check out our ad in the new Queen Anne's County Official Travelers Guide! Wish I had had newer pictures, with all of the outside work we have done in the last three years, as well as our new logo from Chris McDonough. Next time. Magin Batson Urdanick: Hope to have you back in the Spring to take great new photos. We are booking up nicely for next year, already.

Wow! Great news on the USPS postage stamp for nearby Thomas Point light. The Love Point lighthouse which was offshore of where LPI is now, from 1872-1964, was of a very similar screw-pile construction, once common on the Chesapeake. Thomas Point is the last screw-pile lighthouse at its original location.

The U.S. Postal Service's newest collection of mid-Atlantic lighthouse stamps confirms what we on the Bay already knew: Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse is a piece of nationally-important history.

Love Point Idyll is a fun place to be, even in Winter. In COVID times, it is nice to have a big house and nearly four acres to wander.

240’ Private Beachfront Vaca Rental on Kent Island: Rehearsal Dinners, Reunions, Annapolis Boat Shows, USNA Events - Sleeps 18+

Spacious, comfortable vacation home located on Love Point, the northern tip of Kent Island, in the heart of the upper Chesapeake Bay. This beachfront property is adjacent to the former grounds of the historic Love Point Hotel grand resort, where well-to-do families once took steamboats from Baltimore piers to vacation in style (now Love Point State Park). On the coveted northeastern side of Kent Island, you have views of pleasure craft, fishing vessels, and an array of wildlife (including dolphins on occasion) – no commercial ship traffic/anchorage in view from here.

The Home: Large master suite w/private whirlpool bath and shower. Five bedrooms with a large 3rd floor dorm, sleeps 18-23. One queen bedroom requires no stairs. Fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, a chef’s delight! Stock all basic cooking items and a wide range of utensils, pots/pans, and dishes. Can seat 50 for dinner indoors in dining room, sunroom, and two screened sun porches, all with beautiful views. Gorgeous living room with fireplace with heat exchange/blower built into brick.

The Property: The grounds are nearly four acres: high ground around the house & courtyard, 1/2 acre tidal pond and wetlands toward the shore, and 240 feet of sandy beachfront. Offshore jetties create a protected lagoon by the beach, providing safety for kids swimming and those learning to kayak or paddleboard. There is outstanding birdwatching from the sun room and from the northeast sun porch, 40 yards from the half-acre tidal pond on the grounds. The property is directly across the water from Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge. Bird watching is peak over morning coffee or at dusk, depending on the species. Spectacular sunrises over the water. Plenty of space to play and wander. Catch fish and crabs right from the property, and prepare a feast for the group.

The Location & Area: Ten minutes to the seafood restaurants, bars, marinas, and many other activities of Kent Narrows. It is right across the Bay Bridge from Annapolis and 40 miles to St. Michaels. Close to DC and Baltimore, it is only 60 miles from Springfield, VA. Coming across from the Western Shore, you will part with any shore traffic immediately, taking the first exit after the Bay Bridge. It seems like the other side of the world, though, once you arrive on the Island and you immediately feel your blood pressure drop.
