Olive harvest time is there! And soon gone, as this year is not a good one for olive production. Usually the trees only give olives one year out of two. But we have been lucky enough to have a small part of rebels within our grove : trees that give against time on the poor year. This time… the miracle did not happen. Do you know why (I don’t)?

This is the best reading place I know. The shadow is just fine, the mattress is soft, nobody can find you from the house (and also, the view is in fact not bad). The thing is… you have to be able to read in a splashy and laughtery environment once everyone is in the pool.

I’ve been told that I barely show the interiors of Casa 1876. That’s true. For 2 main reasons : first we spend most of the time outdoors. And secondly because… a house with 3 kids you know… (well people who know, know). I always have to tidy up a little bit, could you tell ?
So here is a view of the kitchen through the back door !

I don’t know what they were thinking in 1876 when one guy said “OK Fernando, vamos construir a casa aqui nesta encosta inclinada, gosto das vistas”* but they had it soooo right (and must have worked soooo hard for it, I cannot even imagine). Well done, guys.

*something like “OK Fernando, we’re going to build the house right here on the slopping hillside, I kind of like the views here”

In Britton, we only have one word that says both green and blue : “glaz”. I think the pool with the new tiles is now “glaz”. What do you think ? 💙💚
