Me: “I need to move this heat lamp about three inches lower, add more straw, and tighten up this tarp”. 🤣🤣.
Stay warm everyone!

Good evening from Oklahoma 🥶!
Here is an interesting fact about our pigs-

We have 8 pet pigs that choose to sleep in 2 groups of 4. Tonight I tucked the girls and Jessie in and noticed they were positioned in such a way that gave a true perspective to their size/breed. I was amazed myself when seeing them next to each other since I see them everyday.
Lea (top) is a Hampshire. Lea has been with us for almost 3 yrs and was 4lbs when she arrived. Lea is still growing 😬. Next to Lea is Bernedette (Bernie). She is the oldest and smallest as you can see 😌. She is a potbelly and weights about 150lbs.
Next is Holly who we adopted a year ago. She is a Yorkshire mix. We expect her to grow as large or larger than Lea🤪. Holly is three times larger than when she first arrived.
At the bottom is Jessie. It took about a year for Jessie to gain weight and now he has caught up with the other male potbelly boys, but prefers to sleep with the girls since he was raised with Lea.
Bernie looks like a “mini” pig compared to the others and this is part of the misconception about potbelly’s being “mini or micro”. The trend of mini pigs as pets started in the 1990’s and it is estimated that almost 90% are surrendered within a couple of years to local shelters or let loose on the streets because they grow to an average weight of 200lbs and not suited to be an indoor pet. I’m not saying they can’t be an indoor pet. All I know is that when we got Bo & Luke six year ago on Christmas Eve, they stayed in the house and it was NOT cute or fun. We discovered they left lots of presents for us under the Christmas tree 💩 💩 🎄😂. We quickly figured out a better housing plan for them which would later result in adding 6 more rescues 🥰.
Stay warm Everyone!! Love on those critters whatever they may be 🐈 🐶 🐰🐮🐴🐢🐍🐑🐓🦙🫏🦨.

We completed the vision for Duck Island this weekend by adding some new housing for the bachelor ducks at the 310 property. It was the perfect weekend to burn 🔥 piles of brush, play with pups, and take in the stars. We wish everyone a blessed New Year and hope you can come visit our Beautiful Chaos🤪!

“As a representative of the Land Hippo, I believe snacks should be equal to that of the pet pigs on property” - Stella 🤣( Found on a dirt road, April 2024).

Steve and I worked at the 10 acre property until sunset on Sunday. The weekend weather had taken a toll on some of the older pines so we used the day to clean up debris and reflect on the properties transformation over the past 3 years.
As the color of the sky changed during sunset, I couldn’t help but noticed how beautiful the pond looked. I had expected it to be a wreck after all of the heavy rain and flooding, yet it was picture perfect for Fall 🍁.
If you need a little time for yourself, this may be your new favorite place.
Day visit or 1 night rental available.

We needed rain and we got it alright 😬. A few days ago I was worried fish may start dying due to the low pond level, and now I hope they didn’t get washed away. Wacky Oklahoma weather 🤪.
It is a beautiful mess here!

Everyone has a full tummy after dinner. Holly is taking a dip in her personal tub 🙄. Jessie is being a turd to Luke 🤦🏻‍♀️. This is normal pig behavior, and like having a naughty toddler. No one got hurt. Jessie is going to make his “nest” of blankets for the night after his outburst 🤣.
Happy November!

Weekend update….

Lea 🐷 (pronounced Lee) was weighed (measured) over the weekend, and is now officially 408lbs! She is a wrecking machine when scavenging nuts in the backyard. We have to limit her time so she doesn’t get a tummy ache 😵‍💫.

Is it me or does Roscoe’s horns keep getting longer?? 🥹

Sassy 🐈‍⬛ did a Public Service Announcement regarding Black Cat Knowledge.

Kacey the cat took a ride on my shoulders most of the weekend while I captured some pics and looks really happy about it even though it was her idea 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Ginger the Alpaca says “Hello” along with Sugar the spoiled mini Donkey 🥰.

I think 🤔 we may actually experience some FALL weather this week. Have a GREAT one!

Project “Duck Island” started a year ago. This seemed like an easy enough project until it wasn’t so easy 😬. Over the summer we hired Jasun to help us out so it wouldn’t take Steve and I a decade to clear the island 🤪. Our bachelor ducks have adjusted well to their new home!
Here are some before and after pics 😀.

Thanks to your generosity, the evening team collected the most donations and had to pucker up for the event. The PM crew visited Okie Grown Farms to Kiss The Pig.

This was so much fun! Our pigs Bernedette and Holly did the honors 😘.

WOW, Time does fly!
It has been almost three years since we started the Okie Grown 310 project (a 10 acre property a short distance away from the main farm). This has been hands down the most intense property rehab that I have ever seen or been involved. It’s hard to imagine at one time you could not step a foot in any direction without coming across trash.
When I saw the property for the first time , I envisioned a place where dogs and people could come together while stepping away from the hustle and bustle of life’s daily demands. Steve thought I had lost my mind, but he knew who he married🤣.
We replaced the broken down winnebago that came with the property(this may have been the one from the show Breaking Bad) with a small cabin 😬😌. Each day we take the pups for a short drive to their favorite place on earth, and where I crossed paths with our new girl Stella back in April.
Here are some recent pictures. I was at the right place at the right time in the month of July and captured a beautiful rainbow 🌈.
Give us a shout if you would like to come out and tour any of our three properties. Property tours are no charge. Come see for yourself and get to know us before booking an overnight stay, small event or hourly farm visit. Your support offsets the cost of caring for over sixty animals who have a permanent home here. Our journey started six years ago and we have much more work to do so we hope you will join us along the way!

God Bless ❤️

Hello Friends!
It has been several months since I have checked in, but for good reason 🤪.
#1 - I crossed paths with a female American pit bull terrier in major need of help while going to our 310 Rd property back in the month of April (no microchip, and recently had puppies), ever since then we have been on a journey of medical healing and intregration with the existing dog pack (Big Adjustment). This has given me a new perspective for those that do doggie rescue day in and day out❤️.
#2 My middle son Christian has participated with us since the beginning of Okie Grown and recently bought a 5 Acre property just down the street from us (.7 miles). It is now included in our Okie Grown Farms Airbnb listings. https://www.airbnb.com/slink/u4YBs7Ta
#3 My most recent venture has been studying Agricultural Science at OSU Stillwater. With that being said, this would not be possible without Farmer Steve making sure my motherly duties were done on a daily basis at the Farm 🤠.
Here is pic of Stella our new pup addition, and new available property. We have two other properties within a short distance to explore on Airbnb. Thank you for supporting farm animals, dogs & cats in need of permanent placement, as well as the agricultural amendment of land to make it happen.

I use to have live flowers in the window boxes of Roo’s Clubhouse (A tiny house for cats and rabbits), now I have fake flowers that have been tossed out because a few of the residents decided to put their needs first 🤨😂.

From the shelter to the Farm.
Look how far Ms. Ren has come in a few months! She was taken in by the Sand Springs Animal Shelter after sustaining severe injuries which left her without a left hind leg. Her face is scared along with permanent ear damage, but look at her now! She is absolutely beautiful and loves all her new farm friends ❤️.
