It's nice to be connected! Here's my group at Kransberg Castle with the owner. We get special access to different parts of the castle, which is not open to the general public. Schloss Kransberg was an important part of the "Adlerhorst" FHQ during World War II - and from May 1945 - August 1947 the castle was used by the OSS as Camp "Dustbin"; the central processing and interrogation facility for top n**i officials, scientists, and industrialists like Albert Speer, Wernher Von Braun, and Ferdinand Porche to name a few. It also played a central role in the founding of West Germany's main intelligence agency, the BND (by the Gehlen Organisation). The other two photos show one of the remaining Bunker Houses from Adlerhorst and our hotel for the night - Spangenberg Castle (which was a German P.O.W. camp in WWII for British Officers). Experience behind-the-scenes historical sites and overnight in castle hotels, only on Alpventures Tours!

MISSION: GUERNSEY - COMING TO BRITAIN AT WAR! TOUR
With more and more companies blatantly copying our industry-leading World War II Tours, we are constantly working on making our trips unique. The Channel Islands were the only occupied part of the British Isles during World War II. German forces invaded Guernsey on June 30, 1940, where they remained for five years until May 9, 1945. The remnants of the German Occupation are still visible across the Islands with fortifications dotted along the coastline and unique museums documenting this important part of Guernsey's past. Starting in 2025, Alpventures Tours Britain at War! Tour will offer a 3-Day Guernsey optional add-on. More details coming soon at worldwar2tours.com
Please support the 100th Bomb Group Foundation. They are keeping the legacy of the 'Bloody Hundredth' alive.

Buck Cleven Returns - “As the snow fell on the countryside of Norfolk a very good thing came to the Squadron. Major Gale W. Cleven came back from the other side and sat with his men again.
The Major, who had gone down on the 8th of October, 1943, came back... When he had gone down he had taken with him the heart of the Squadron as well. All the months that had slipped by since he had languished behind the barbed-wire of German camps. Now he came home to us. A little thinner and a little harder- but home…
The men were satisfied and happy. And the men who had come after his disappearance had heard the fabulous tales of his legend so when he came back, they met him with interest, with speculation. Then they were glad and satisfied, too...He met everyone. It seemed as though everyone wanted to meet Cleven. The legend of his exploits had grown. He had become a symbol of the days of the first of the many. He was still very much the warrior. He was still very much the shy and diffident character when it came to being lionized, too...” - Jack Sheridan, 350th Squadron

Video profile of the "Todt" Battery; a former German heavy artillery battery located on the coast of France near Calais. Intended to assist the Third Reich in its plan to invade England (Operation Sea Lion), it was never used for that purpose as Hitler lost the Battle of Britain and never carried out the invasion. Today, it is an Atlantic Wall Museum containing a great collection of uniforms, weapons and equipment - in addition to an original Krupp K5 rail-mounted artillery gun; one of only two known in the world.
