Pirate Night! 🏴‍☠️ Every Disney Cruise has a pirate night! Everyone dresses up as pirates and some people go all out. If you don’t have pirate gear, not to worry- you will get a special pirate bandana in your stateroom. There is a deck party with Mickey and friends including Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. Even the dining rooms celebrate pirate night with a special pirate menu and pirate costumes for the waitstaff. After dinner around 10:00 there is another rocking 🎸pirate party followed by fireworks at sea! If you book a cruise with me I will tell you the best place to stand for prime fireworks viewing! 🎆

Our first port of call was Tortola! We met up with our excursion group in one of the dining rooms. We then walked together to our ferry. We took about a 30 minute ferry ride over to Jost Van D**e. We then boarded an open air truck for a 10 minute drive down to the beach. We had several hours there and they fed us a delicious barbecue lunch. It was a great day!

Let’s talk specialty dining on a Disney Cruise! This last cruise we enjoyed the special dessert package at Remy on the Disney Fantasy. $65 per person but definitely worth it. It was fantastic. We enjoyed 6 dessert recipes from Michelin star chefs. Chef Justin came out and told us the origin about each dish and how it was made.

There are so many things to do on a Disney Cruise! You will never be bored. There is a schedule of all activities in the Disney Cruise Line app. One of my favorite things is animation classes. I love to draw and I think it’s so fun to learn new characters. Can you tell which drawings are mine? This time we also painted animation cells. We played Bingo and won! The entertainment crew is amazing and they make everything so much fun. We took a tour of the ship. We learned they have a $25,000 bottle of wine on board! We played music trivia (plus several other kinds). There are also beverage tastings and cooking classes. You can play mini- golf or basketball or lounge at the pools and ride the Aquamouse! There are 3 broadway style shows plus extra entertainment if you are on a longer cruise. Our shows were Aladdin, Frozen and Believe. Our extra entertainment was a juggler, a percussion group and an illusionist! So many things to do!

One of the perks of a Disney Cruise is all the character interaction. There are literally characters to meet all throughout the day and night. The wait times are usually short and the interactions are amazing! Since this was a Halloween on the High Seas cruise we got to meet some of them in their Halloween costumes. They even have special meet and greets for the kids while they are in the kids club including Marvel heros and Toy Story characters.

Each Disney ship has a full service spa called Senses. They offer massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, hair cuts and more! For this cruise we bought a week long pass to an area of the spa called the Rainforest room. You will be given a wristband similar to a magic band to gain access to this area of the spa. On the Fantasy they have a dry sauna that has a floor to ceiling window for that amazing ocean view. It also has two steam rooms set to different temperatures. There are 4 different showers with different temperatures, pressures and lights. There are 10 heated stone loungers that look out a huge window to the two hot tubs that look out over the ocean. They provide towels and water. They only sell a select number of passes so it was never really crowded while we were there. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after our day on the beach in Tortola and I decided to get a leg and foot massage. They will sometimes have special pricing for guests with Rainforest room passes. There is a nice locker room with big showers and spa shampoo, conditioner and body wash ( different from what’s in your stateroom). It is an awesome experience and we felt definitely worth the added expense!

Back to the cruise now from saving my clients lots of money with the discounts Disney dropped today! Dining- On Disney Cruise Line they do rotational dining for dinner service. There are three main dining rooms and you will rotate through each of them. The nice thing is that you have the same wait staff every night! So they get to know your likes and dislikes and what you want to drink. Since our cruise was 7 nights we visited one dining room three times and the other ones twice. There is a chance you might be seated with other people on the cruise. Since it was just the two of us we figured this would happen. We got lucky and had lovely table mates named Peter and Gillian from the UK! It was fun to get to know them and especially interesting since we were from different countries. If you are a party of 4 or more there is a good chance you will only be seated with your party. Be sure to check out the pictures for more info!

After we checked out our room we went to O’Gills pub to watch some Aggie football but they ended up in a rain delay so we explored the adults only deck of the ship.

After we boarded the ship you have two options for lunch. Cabanas is the buffet up on deck 11 that is open. But you can also go to a designated dining room and have a sit down meal. It’s a little less hectic and crowded so we did that! Our stateroom was ready right at 1:30 so we went to check that out after lunch.

Saturday morning and it was time to cruise! This was our 7th Disney cruise but our first on the Disney Fantasy. We were going on a 7 night eastern Carribean cruise with stops in Tortola, St Thomas and Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island) I booked us Disney transportation that picked us up at our resort and took us to Port Canaveral (about 45 minutes away). Next it was time for Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party! We rode the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. With our party ticket we were allowed to enter the park at 4:00 but the actual party doesn’t start till 7:00. They make the people without tickets to the party leave at 6:00. There is trick or treating, a special parade, fireworks and projection show, appearances by Disney Villains, special Halloween snacks and food and much more. Plus the tickets are limited so crowds are low and wait times for rides are short! The party is over at midnight but you can take your time leaving. We usually shop one more time down Main Street on our way out!

Day two we slept in a little and then enjoyed a nice brunch at The Grand Floridian Cafe. It was delicious and I highly recommend eating there! Remember to go through each picture for more details! Next up Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

After our delicious lunch we took the bus to Disney Springs for some shopping at World of Disney. That evening we had dinner at 1900 Park Fare. This restaurant at the Grand Floridian just recently opened back up after a remodel. It is a buffet and while you eat you are visited by Mirabel, Aladdin, Tiana, and Cinderella. Such a great character interaction. After dinner we waited outside of our building to watch Happily Ever After (fireworks and projection show) at Magic Kingdom. You can see the fireworks from various spots around the Grand Floridian and they play the music. It was a great way to end our first day!

Disney World features impressive dining venues with exceptional culinary offerings. After bell services delivered our luggage, we used the monorail to travel to the Contemporary Resort for dinner at Steakhouse 71.

Our room was ready early and I was so excited to see it! The Grand Floridian recently finished major renovations and now all the rooms have been redone. It is absolutely stunning!
