To all of our :
We apologize for the radio silence over the past two weeks. After tragedy struck in the end of January, we have been working nonstop amidst a bout of the plague to tie up the loose ends, travel back across the country, return conference materials eligible for return, and sleep a bit after two weeks of working around the clock.
To all of you who joined us for : THANK YOU! While very different from the event we worked so hard all year to create, we found ourselves surrounded by love, support, and family in a more tangible way than we ever could have envisioned. That was YOU, dear Sinners...and we love you all.
We are, as promised, now working on refunds. Our never-ending gratitude to those of you who have faith that we will keep our word and have not disputed your credit card charges for "lack of services rendered". Each chargeback results in a "ding" against us, which threatens our ability to maintain our own merchant account and keep your credit card processing fees as low as possible, so thank you so much for your trust and patience.
If you requested a refund and paid within the last 120 days, the refund will be credited to the card with which your registration was purchased. If the transaction is older than 120 days, we have to mail a paper check to the original purchaser. There is ONE (1) person completing this work, to limit the exposure of your personal information, so this process is slow-moving, but we assure you it IS happening.
Status requests regarding refunds may be directed to [email protected]. Our priority right now is to issue and mail the refunds, so response to said requests may be slow.
The size of this event makes these refunds a giant undertaking. Additionally, Sin in the City is in receipt of several threatening emails from those who would do the event (and you) harm. We would like to remind all of our Sinners that unless an email comes from an address in the -in-the-city.com domain, it is NOT a legitimate email from SITC. Those seeking to harm Sin have attempted to copycat email addresses using anonymous encrypted hosts.
To address a particular point brought up in one of these threatening emails: the reason Jazz has not been responding to social media comments directly and other staff have been taking on communications duties, is because Jazz is currently facing THE nightmare that any parent in the scene dreads: her ex-partner is seeking to use this community-building effort as a weapon in a custody battle. Jazz is not hiding from you. She is currently acting to protect her family and YOU, dear Sinners. This has also served to slow down our refund process, for which we again apologize.
Again, we cannot offer profuse enough thanks to all of you for , for your patience, for your generosity, and for your faith. We look forward to getting through this part of the process and back to what we do best: creating a haven for everyone to live authentically, fighting for *xualfreedom, and making 2021 the BEST Sin yet!
