Our team had the distinct pleasure of working with the JJ Pearce High School band to attend the American Classic Music Festival in San Antonio, Texas. We put together a package for them that included everything from roundtrip transportation, hotels, breakfast, a discovery tour of the natural bridge, dinner at Hard Rock Cafe, and so much more. Ashley Cummings is excited to join Travel Leaders Students tours and share her knowledge, expertise and attention to detail in planning your next adventure.

With over twenty years of experience in music education, Ashley Tyler Cummings is passionate about providing extraordinary travel adventures for students. Her extensive experience in organizing and leading student travel programs has allowed her to create enriching and educational experiences for students across various destinations.

Ashley has an extensive background in music and education, specializing in middle and high school band programs. She launched the sixth-grade band programs at Rockwell Elementary School, Spanish Fort Elementary School, and Stonebridge Elementary School in 2022, following her tenure as Band Director at Central Baldwin Middle School from 2007 to 2022.

Before her work in Baldwin County, Ashley served as the Assistant Band Director at Homewood Middle School and Homewood High School, where her band performed for the Alabama Music Educators Association State Conference. She also played a key role in local high school band programs, including guard and dance choreography and design.

Originally from Lakeland, Florida, Ashley grew up in Brewton, Alabama, and graduated from T. R. Miller High School. She completed her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Auburn University, where she was actively involved in various musical ensembles and organizations. Ashley furthered her education with a Master of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, continuing with post-graduate and doctoral work there as well.

Ashley's professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), National Band Association, Alabama Bandmasters Association, Tau Beta Sigma, and Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity. She has served as a presenter and clinician for the Alabama Music Educators Association and NAfME’s Biennial Music Educators National Conference, in addition to her role as an active clinician, adjudicator, and teacher throughout the southeast region.

"The Tuscaloosa County High Band had an absolutely fantastic experience at this year's Robert W. Smith Music Festival organized by All National Music. We are immensely grateful for the dedication and hard work put in by Doug Brasell, All National Music and Debra Smith Travel Leaders Student Tours, whose efforts truly made this event unforgettable for our students. Perhaps most impactful was the opportunity for our students to work directly with the composers who wrote the very music they were playing.
