7 day Alaska cruise on Carnival Luminosa. This was my first time to Alaska and I don't know how many times I said "this looks fake"because I have never seen such beautiful scenery. I'll start with pics of the ship and 1 whale tail 🐋
Luminosa is a little older but I loved the covered Lido area where you could still enjoy outside and the pool in the cool temps. The gold and wood decor made me feel like I stepped back in time to the fancy 1920's. The spa and thermal suite area all had amazing floor to window views of the passing mountains and islands and the onboard Naturalist would make announcements when she spotted any whales or critters outside as we sailed along the inside passage.
Tomorrow.. first stop, Tracy Arms Fjord and glacier!

Seattle in 24 hours! Crumpets and Chowder and dumplings oh my, Space Needle and Pikes Place Market, the first Starbucks, Gum wall, Pioneer square and Gold Rush museum, Chinatown district, amazing old architecture, HILLS..., Totem poles, Mt. Rainier, piers and pot stores, ferris wheels, ferries and throwing fresh fish! I'm sure there was a lot more but I'm tired!!

Travel Tip Tuesday: RIP CURRENTS! Know what they look like & Stay Away!
Signs:
Foam or debris: An area on the beach where the waves are not breaking, but instead you see sandy water or the white foam of a current, seaweed, or debris headed back out to sea.
Darker water: A narrow gap of darker, calmer water between areas of breaking waves and whitewater
Choppy water: A channel of churning, choppy water on the surface
Larger surf: Larger surf than usual

Getting Out:
WAVE, YELL, SWIM PARALLEL
Do not panic, keep your head above water, and don’t exhaust yourself fighting the current. Make distress signals to lifeguards and swimmers around you and SWIM PARALLEL to the beach. Once you do not feel the effect of the current anymore, use the waves to get back to the shore.

I recently had the pleasure of helping plan a last minute week long getaway in Belize. They will be exploring the small villages of Hopkins and Placencia and staying in this cute 1 bedroom Beachfront suite at the Colonial Inn At Jaguar Reef!

One of the best things about my job is making new friends from all over the world! One of my business developer managers came from Cancun to meet with us Okies to set down in person and discuss how we can work together to create the best vacations possible for clients and create a mutual alliance for them when they are out of the country.
I love that we are community over competition and meeting other travel advisors at these supplier showcases and conferences I always learn something new from them!

2 Tips...go to the 8th floor to catch a view of both the lagoon and ocean side of the Cancun Hotel Zone!
The atrium is gorgeous and open to the top!
And..

They also have an incredible infinity pool with swim-up bar, kids club and water park there and tons of shows and activities.

More changes coming in Vegas! The Mirage Hotel & Casino will close its doors on July 17 to begin the property's transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas featuring a nearly 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower, which will rise where the Mirage's volcano currently stands. The Hard Rock Las Vegas is expected to open in spring 2027!

I went to a travel advisor event today and learned that this beauty will be opening in July. No... it's not in the Maldives, it's in Negril, Jamaica! Does somebody need a hug? If it's on your bucket list to hug a sloth, then Roatan, Honduras is your place! Mahogany Bay is a popular cruise port and just a short drive through the island gets you to the sloth sanctuary. Make a stop at the rum factory for a sample, Zipline or atv through the tropical forest or ride the "magical beach chair" over to Carnival's private cove and chill on a floating lounger, sample the fresh seafood, shop and get your fish pedicure right on the beach!

I have to say, the most exciting thing I booked this week was a DOORS OFF Helicopter tour over Kauai for a family that will be vacationing in Hawaii! Flying over Manawaiopuna Falls, also known as the “Jurassic Falls” where the movie was filmed, Waimea Canyon, known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Napali Coastline with its towering 3500′ seacliffs and Wai’ale’ale Crater, one of the wettest spots on earth.
The memories they will be creating with their teenager are going to be EPIC! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Tulum, Mexico has such a different vibe then Cancun and the newly opened airport has made it much easier to access. While many of the resorts there are not all-inclusive, the relaxed bohemian atmosphere, use of nature in boutique eco-friendly resorts, beautiful beaches and cenotes create such a unique experience. While cruising the Jubilee, we made a stop in Cozumel and I toured 3 sister properties that are semi-connected. Secrets Aura, Dreams Cozumel and Sunscape. If staying at the Adults Only Secrets, you have privileges at all 3, the other 2 are family friendly and right on the water!
