tis the season for Travel! so many people are finally getting out and traveling outside their cities, states and even out of the country.
If you are planning a trip out of the country you will need a passport.
The waiting time to get a passport can be up to a few months or more! Sooooo.....Don't wait till the last minute to decide you want to leave the country on Vacation.
it is a good idea to get your passport processes started way before you think you will want one....Like six months ahead.
And if you do have a passport, check to see when it expires, most travel like cruises say you shouldn't leave if it expires within 6 months. Get it Renewed asap! *passports are good for 10 years for adults, 5 years for children.
Once you have your passport figured out lets get you booked on an awesome vacation!

Cruise News, Norwegian just announced they are raising the Gratuities a bit. Up to $20 per person per day. This starts at the first of the year.
if you book now and pre-pay the gratuities you get the older rates.

Nice. Royal Caribbean just announced another new ship. A huge one. Sailing in 2024, starts booking this October 25!
I'll have more info soon for booking but plenty of time to pay it off. Let me know if you want more info and want to book for 2024!

More cruise lines are making more changes to the cruising and vax policies.
Many are now allowing Unvaccinated people to cruise. You may need to have a test done before you cruise.
Vaccinated people no tests on many of them *depending on where you are going, some countries and islands may require a test still.

I you have been putting off going on a cruise because you are unvaccinated now is the time to start booking again.

Today is Travel Agent Appreciation Day! And I have a favor to ask... If you are looking to travel, please book your trip with a travel agent! Many are struggling to stay in business right now with not as many people traveling as usual and every booking helps! It does not cost anything to use a travel professional and you will get the same rates as booking direct. And sometimes a TA can find you a better deal!!

Cruise News: Prices are going up, not just for the cruise but other things.
Gratuities, Drink packages, wifi and more.
but bookings are still going up, Cruise ships are filling up.
I think people are still wanting to get away, it is time!

One of the Cruise Vloggers I follow just posted a video about a slipping and broken ankle thing that happened while on one of the private island stops. Very sad early ending to a Cruise.

One reason I always recommend my clients to get Travel insurance, it would cover emergency, transportation, loss of money from cruise etc. Get the insurance!

If anyone is traveling to Vegas we just lifted the Mask Mandate for most everywhere, there are still some exceptions to this so be aware.

Governor Steve Sisolak has lifted the state's mask mandate effective immediately.

Masks will no longer be required in public places, but there are locations where Nevadans and visitors may still be asked to wear a mask.

Masks and protective equipment requirements in facilities serving vulnerable populations - like hospitals, clinics and long-term care facilities - will be overseen at the direction of the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.

Federally, masks are still mandated in airports, on planes and on public buses and school buses.

Royal Caribbean just announced they are relaxing on their Mandatory Mask Mandate, it is suggested but options starting soon,
Still need to be Vaccinate and be tested.

Cruise News updates,
Norwegian Cruise lines are stopping the Mask mandates as of March 1st. It is optional and recommended but not required.
Children under 5 do not need to be Vaccinated.

If you are traveling to the USA you will need a negative covid test only ONE day prior, not 3 days as before. This might be difficult to get?

Starting Dec. 6: All international air passengers, regardless of vaccination status, must show a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 1 day before to the United States.

Travel Updates!
I am getting notices that several more countries are requiring all US visitors to be fully vaccinated. Some will allow un vaccinated with negative test and quarantine for 10 days or more.

Please check the requirements before your travel, these are changing often.

Your Travel agency should be updating you with these things as well. If you don't have a travel agency I may be able to help you book your vacations and keep you up to date!

Some Cruise news:
A few cruise lines are requiring a negative test only 2 days out now, used to be 3 days.
So it may be a little more difficult for some if you plan on flying in to departure city the day before (and that is advisable to do)

Be sure you know the protocol is for your cruise before you go, always keep checking their websites. And hopefully you have a good travel agency that helps keep you in the know.

Travel PSA:
Oh no, just heard of a sad story of a woman that fell ill while on a Cruise and had to be hospitalized on a foreign island, she had to be hospitalized on this island (not good hospitals) and they didn't have the medicine or care she needed. She didn't have proper Travel insurance with Medical coverage to get her to a better place or back to the USA. She died.

I hear of this a lot, Please, if you travel, esp into foreign countries be sure you get proper travel insurance with medical coverage and medical transportation. I recommend it to all my travel clients.
No, your credit card insurance won't cover it
No, the standard basic insurance you buy from the cruise line won't cover it.
No, your Medical plan you have in the USA won't cover it (usually)
Read the fine print and coverage limitations.
a few extra hundred dollars on a good Travel plan may just save your life and save you thousands of dollars if you have an emergency.

Breaking news: Norwegian Cruise lines (NCL) just won in court over the state of Florida to be able to only offer 100% Vaccinated only cruises.
Cruises are set to start soon too.
