The Makronissos Tomb area is one of the most fascinating discoveries in Ayia Napa. It was discovered by illegal excavators in 1872 and then excavated by the municipality between November 1989 and January 1990. So far, nineteen tombs have been excavated as well as a small altar to the east of the tombs and a part of an ancient quarry next to the cemetery.

Meteora Monasteries, Greece📍🇬🇷

Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it's no wonder why. Located as a beautiful backdrop to the small town of Kalabaka in central Greece, these Greek Orthodox buildings offer some of the best views in the world while being a part of the views themselves.

The monasteries of Meteora are perched on tall, steep rocks and rise 2,000 feet above the valley below. Six active monasteries inhabit these walls today and hold beautiful artefacts as well as wall paintings from their Byzantine past. They house a small number of monks or nuns who live in seclusion to pursue quiet lives devoted purely to God.

If you're looking for a beach that's not quite like any other, then the Marietas Islands are the place to go.
The beaches here are formed by strange craters that were created by underground explosions during military testing in the early 1900s.

The craters have been filled with sand, and now they are beautiful sandy crescent-shaped beaches that are connected to the sea via long tunnels.
The water is rough here, and you have to swim in beside treacherous rocks, but it's totally worth it. The beaches here are sandy, and the water is usually pretty calm. The walls of the crater protect swimmers from large waves, but they also create a natural pool that feels like an aquarium.

The purpose of World Friendship Day is to remind us that we can all be friends with each other. It's about celebrating our similarities instead of focusing on our differences. It's about bringing people together instead of pushing them apart. And it's about creating an environment where we can all live in harmony with one another.

Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and the first point of entry for most people. First impressions immediately ‘wow’ you, as its two lovely harbours glitter in the sun and numerous volcanic cones reach towards the heavens.
