Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a good week and are kicking off a well deserved weekend of RnR. Over here bit by bit the shop is shifting (the iPod will be the last to go🎶)
I decided to bring the best of the best to my apartment and it’s starting to look like a new version of Maison Miami Beach.
And what’s better than using my place as the new showroom, giving it as much attention as I gave the shop?
It’s kind of funny how my own home was taking a backseat. With a recent move I just had the bare minimum cause everything great went to the store. Now I’m finally decorating the place and loving living with the pieces and all the plants.
Guess I found the silver lining just like you said I would. Love you guys so much. ❤️Have a great weekend!

If a picture says 1000 words what does an illustration say? Especially one from the 1700s, France. I’ve had this engraving titled “Le Coiffeur” in my bathroom for years… As someone who struggles with good and bad hair days I’ve always found it to be lighthearted when I think of the complicated hairdos of the past and those who were behind them. Happy Sunday guys! I left my mom with a pretty big project and am missing our time together working on it. My parents have been in the same house for 53 years and they save everything. Trying to find it is another issue but I digress. Anyway my Mom came down one day and dumped hundreds of samples of silks, cottons, linens and velvets onto the dining room. It was like a time capsule. 20 years of the samples, upholstery, curtains and bedding we did at The Paris Apartment were spread over the dining room table. Of course some were small but who has the heart to throw away a square of orange silk velvet? Anyway my mom is a master quilter so we separated them into colorways and decided to make a free flow quilt that would transition from aquas to blues to greens to taupes to tans to pinks. to see how it’s coming along. She’s determined to finish it so I’ll check in on her progress and keep you posted if you like it. Have a beautiful day!

Hi friends, please indulge me, I need to vent. Many of you have known me for years when I first opened “The Paris Apartment” boutique in NYC in 1993. In 1997 I wrote the book “The Paris Apartment” which was published by Harper Collins. I have been working to develop the brand consistently across multiple for 27 years. It has been my heart and soul over the past three decades and I have had to fiercely protect the it. Many have tried to hyjack it in almost every arena. My brand and business is everything to me. To see an author with Harper Collins, my same publishers use my brand to further her career is beyond heartbreaking. It is infuriating. It is an example of David against Goliath. Please give me advice on what you think I should do or if you know anyone who can help with this legally. I would never write a book, Harry Potter or shabby chic. I would think that an author and an entrepreneur I would have the same respect. A simple Google search would have caused a lot of grief to be avoided. Thank you friends for listening and I appreciate all of your advice and help.
