Want your business to be the top-listed Travel Agency?
Our Story
Platinum Estates was the baby of David & Heather O’Connor and was based in Crawley, West Sussex. The business was started when Heather announced that twins were due and David could not be flying off around the world all the time. And it was decided to open a service based business that could be run locally without the need for to much travel! At its peak, it employed 15 people and turned over £0.5M per year. It’s sister company Platinum New Homes Development Limited founded with David’s brother John built and trade property plots for many years. Heather bought out David’s his brother in 2015 after David & Heather had sold Platinum Estate's significant lettings business to a large corporate business (Sequence). With the devaluation of the estate's agency service proposition by online agency’s and other demands on our time, it was decided to cease selling properties for residential customers. We are currently developing Landlord Tax software to assist Landlord with the changing regulatory environment while managing owned investments.
We wish to thank the many staff that assisted us over the many years most notable Michael Powney, Mathew Kelly, Lisa Northwood, Carol Becket, David Brown, Grant Brown, Macro Mazzanti & our much-loved sister Ruth O’Connor. There was many other excellent none management staff.
We also wish to thank our thousands of loyal customers for using our services over the years and believe that local independents offer a profoundly better service through more experience and extensive local knowledge.
Now the political bit. Though the premise of a cheap online model is tempting to customers the simple fact is that if you want clever well-paid people working for you you have to pay a decent salary to them (the outcomes are normally better). A call center can not offer that service. The merchant bankers like to systemize and centralize tasks to reduce peoples salaries so they control markets and cream all most of the profits for themselves. The 0.001% of people are getting filthy rich while the middle & social classes are getting poorer. We have lost most of our independent retailers and now they are moving into the service sector. So please use your independents or you will lose them and be left with the large transnational companies where you are nothing but a number.
