As we release our first complete film under our new name, "Colors of Awakening," I find myself contemplating the transformative power of storytelling...
This film is not just a visual experience; it is our narrative aiming at capturing the emotions and epiphanies that have shaped our transformative journey through the Yucatan Peninsula. Its essence has been as much about internal exploration than it has been about external discovery.
Two years ago, when we set out on our quest, I was driven by a longing deep within my soul, not to explore the world but to rediscover myself within it, to connect with the heartbeat of the Earth. I was seeking a communion with the Earth that would mirror the spiritual union I sought within my own being.
This journey now led me to form connections as profound and moving with people as those I sought with nature itself.
The Yucatan Peninsula was not just a destination but a spiritual guide.
It was there that we met souls like Edgar and Gaby, who don't just inhabit this land but are one with it. Their wisdom is not taught but lived, not spoken but felt, touching the soul.
Edgar and Gaby, among others, taught us that true connection comes from dissolving the boundaries between self and other, between humanity and nature. It's a lesson that has fundamentally altered my understanding of what it means to "belong."
Each podcast, each film, each word Glen and I put out is an opportunity for us to delve deeper into the complexities and simplicities of what it means to be human. And as we continue to traverse both the world and the landscapes of our own souls, this film is our invitation to you to join us in this exploration...
