Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures also formerly known as Interior AK Excursions/Adventures was originally founded in 1991 by local river and guiding legend Logan Ricketts (1967-2016):
As a lifelong resident of Fairbanks, Logan was a relentless advocate for conservation, sustainable tourism, fly fishing ethics and foremost a leave no trace behind philosophy. He touched many lives and hearts in our community as a fishing guide, and entrepreneur, competitor, coach, and of course a respected member of the community. Many may say that no one in Interior Alaska has ever had so much passion for floating and fishing the Alaskan wild rivers or skiing as him.
Logan’s foot prints for his passions of fly fishing, rafting, skiing and entrepreneurism can be traced to places way beyond Alaska. Always willing to share his experiences and stories of a life dedicated to his passions, he was able to influence many of his clients and community members in Interior Alaska, and he certainly moved many around him as a great friend.
During his fight with a crippling disease, that offered no mercy, he remained an inspiration with his positive view on life. Logan will certainly be missed by many; however we also know that he would never want anybody to waste a cast or a turn for sorrow.
Logan was an active entrepreneur for almost 2 decades and is the founder of Alaska fishing and Raft Adventures as well as co-founder of Aurora Borealis Lodge. He further was a respected ski racing coach for the Fairbanks Alpine Ski Club (FASC) for over 10 years,
Yelling “Fish-“ or “Bow on” with an ear to ear grin on his face is the Logan that will always be remembered. Logan passed on his baton but his legacy remains a key value in the operation of any guided tours of Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures! This album is dedicated to Logan and the many life-long memories so many were able to share with him. It will be updated and added to continuously and you are welcome to share your stories and send us your pictures so we can add them to this album!

Today marks our official end of ice fishing for the 2022/23 season. Thanks to all our amazing clients that came out to have a bucket list experience. An even bigger THANK YOU goes to our awesome Guides making this happen all winter under the most rugged conditions. You truly are among the best in this industry. It has been one of the busiest seasons for us, and after 3 days of cutting out fishing cabins from still massively frozen lake ice, it’s finally done, and we drugged all cabins off the lake today. This is the longest we have ever gone and the latest we ever took the cabins off. A short 2 weeks, and we will be back on the river for you!

We will be open again this Friday through Monday for more of Fairbanks best Skiing and Snowboarding! We will be pushing last run to 4:30 starting on Friday as well giving you even more time on the hill.

Our Snowcat will be out multiple nights this weekend making sure there is always some smooth and soft corduroy on the mountain for you all to enjoy.
