The beetles of the Namib Desert are so well adapted for the harsh life in the desert.
They collect precious moisture blown in from the coast some 60km away.
They stand on theier heads, facing into the wind, the dew droplets collect on those groves on their back, travel down into their mouth.
Incredible
Look at this beauty walking with ease through the sand

Acacia Trees Unique Defense Mechanism🌿🌲☘️
Acacias are native to tropical and subtropical regions of the world, particularly Australia (where they are called wattles) and Africa, where they are well-known landmarks on the veld and savanna.
Now they have quite a Unique Defense Mechanism against the herbivores/leaf-eating animals.
1. First of all, most of them have thorns and thus are also commonly known as thorn trees. Some have long pointed thorns while others have hooked shaped thorns. These only acts as a defense against those animals that eat their leaves.
2. Some acacia trees produce a toxin known as tannin which basically makes the leaves inedible and forces the animal to seek other greener sources.
3. Also, the acacia trees are equipped with another Chemical Defense Mechanism wherein, they emit a cloud of ethylene gas that can travel up to 45 meters through the air and can warn other acacia trees to produce more tannin so they too become an undesirable choice for the leaf-eating animals.

Victoria Bay, Western Cape..
A meeting was held in the beautiful town of George on 24 August 1847 to hear a report on the capabilities of Gunter Bay to serve as a small harbour.
Captain Allen reported that it was possible to land goods at all times. In due course Gunter Bay was renamed Victoria Bay in honour of the reigning sovereign.

Did you know?
The skin of a hippo can crack and even become infected due to sun damage🌅. Fortunately, to counteract this, hippos have special subcutaneous glands which secrete an oily substance which acts as a natural sun-block, moisturiser and antibacterial agent. This secretion turns a reddish-orange colour when exposed to the sun, which gives rise to the belief that hippos are able to sweat blood.🦛
