Bob Keeshan started out as an NBC page but would eventually work his way up to hosting one of the most beloved children’s television shows ever made, as Captain Kangaroo. But before he provided a gig for Mr. Green Jeans, carrots for Mr. Bunny Rabbit or dodging ping pong balls with Mr. Moose, he enjoyed handing out prizes to the Peanut Gallery and dousing Buffalo Bob Smith with seltzer water as Clarabell the clown.
