Wildside MTB

Wildside MTB 4 day mountain bike event run on Tasmania's rugged West Coast.

Wildside MTB attracts over 500 entrants from around the world and was one of the first events to popularise the multi-day format of racing, with seven race stages and six non-competitive cruises over a four day period. 2014's race will be the ninth.

Everywhere you looked at Wildside, there was a Budget vehicle; the lunch truck, the timing van, the signage truck, the race director's track marking ute and the support van. Without the help of Nick Driessen and Budget, Wildside would not have been possible. Thank you, Budget!

630am UPDATE FOR DAY 3
The race will run as scheduled today for all stages. Smoke will continue to clear from the area during the morning as winds turn westerly. The Tasmanian Fire Service has advised that the fires within the region pose no threat to the event, although there will still be some smoke visible. The situation will be monitored continually and a further update will be provided at 1pm at Trial Harbour.

DAY 3 UPDATE: The Time Trial will still occur as planned. A final decision about the Trial Harbour Cruise Stage and Granville Harbour Race Stage will be made at 7am and advertised at the Time Trial Start, the website and Wildside page. The Tasmanian Fire Service has advised that currently fire does not pose any risk to people in this area, however smoke hazard exists. The current weather forecast indicates that coastal areas are likely to be less affected by smoke and favourable for our event. Check for an update at 7am.

Haven't entered yet? Still looking for an excuse to? - Our big track maintenance weekend is over, and there have been some MASSIVE improvements made to areas of the course, especially the Stirling Valley descent, which is looking dangerously fast... According to our race director, the whole course has NEVER been in better condition; entries are still open, so now is the perfect time to get on board Wildside 2016!
