Tomorrow, March 11th at 10:30 am will be our first walk at Al Lopez. Super easy walk that takes about 1.5 hours.

Two families have canceled due to sick Littles. ❤️ There is plenty of room! This walk is FREE! All walks after are $3 per child $5 per adult.

Today, we hiked Boyd Hill. We only found 1 mushroom, but we didn't mind since the birds of prey were popping off! There was a HUGE wild owl above the rescue birds. It was talking with the other birds. Videos in the comments.

We visited Picnic Island Park yesterday. We found what I believe to be dog vomit slime mold at its fruiting stage. I believe the first pic *might* be a melted stinkhorn due to what appears to be gleba (spores) on the top. Too hard to properly ID at this stage. Stinkhorns hate the sun but LOVE mulch!

PLEASE READ! Are you interested in learning about fungi and local fauna but don't know where to start? Wanting to find some nature loving friends for your entire family? Let me guide us while we learn together and become friends!

I am a fungi & nature enthusiast! When I'm not cooking and feeding South Tampa, you can find me on any one of Florida's many beautiful trails.

All ages welcome!! My family (veteran husband, 3.5 year old son, and 1 year old daughter) come along on every hike.

$3 per child
$5 per adult

A guided walk takes about 2 hours. Message me for larger groups.

If inclement weather occurs, we will reschedule or I will refund you.

Mushrooms are not guaranteed! I do not control the mycelia! 😅 After a big rain is best. Some hikes might only have 3 mushrooms, some hikes have a ton. The good news is that we are in a rainy season!

Available dates through April are each in their own post. Comment on the date that works best for you. First come, first serve!
