Volcano Bay, done the only way it should be done! With a Cabana!!

I always suggest renting a cabana when you visit Volcano Bay (or at least premium seating). This gives you a home base so that you have a place to keep your stuff secure and have a dedicated rest zone. But the best reason is the dedicated team member that will deliver drinks and food right to you! Cabanas calls come with cold water bottles and a fruit tray.

You can also book all your Tapu Tapu rides (think express pass for the best water rides) right from your cabana which is a huge perk. You don’t have to walk around to find a Tapu Tapu kiosk.

What are the first Lightning Lanes I would book after I scan into the Disneyland? I’m glad you asked! When I’m not with my kids, here are the ones I look at first:
📍 Indiana Jones Adventure
📍 Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
📍 Space Mountain

These are typically the ones that return times start to sell out fastest. I generally grab one and then ride some of the non-Lightning Lane rides while wait times are lower in the morning. And remember: your best friend is that modify button!

Golf + Disney 😍 if you have some golf lovers in your family, this is a fun thing to add to your vacation at Disney World. Disney has three beautiful 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole course. Here’s the best way to experience them!

Staying at Saratoga Springs puts you right in the middle of the action with two course that are intwined around the resort. The third golf course is located by the Grand Floridian. No matter where you stay, the bell services will arrange transportation for you to get to your tee time.

Bring your own clubs! Renting clubs and buying balls and tees while you are there really adds up. If you want to save some money, bring your own gear.

You can book your tee time online up to 3 months in advance though you can easily pick up tee times as you get closer.

I really enjoyed golfing the Magnolia Golf Course. It was a fun way to experience Disney in a whole new way!

Disney won’t get up early to help you with a virtual queue. Royal Caribbean won’t make sure you ordered water for your cruise cabin. Universal won’t tell you where all the secret spell locations are. Marriott won’t answer your text about the best place for dinner or where to get a stroller rental. But I will!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland opens on November 15th! And here is how you’ll be able to ride.

Option 1 - VIRTUAL QUEUE
There will be a Virtual Queue option with two drops. The first is at 7 am. For this one, you will need a park reservation for Disneyland park but you can do the virtual queue from anywhere. The second drop is at 12 pm. For this one, you either need a Disneyland reservation or a park hopper ticket. You will need to be scanned into the park for this drop.

Option 2 - Lightning Lane Multi Pass
You will be able to select Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as a Lightning Lane option with your multi pass. Multi passes can be purchased as soon as you scan into the park. You can make your first selection right after.

The thing I love about theme parks is they are always looking to build something new, something exciting, that blows your mind. I love the creativity of it all. And I’m so excited that on MAY 22 2025 we will get to explore a whole new park - EPIC UNIVERSE!

Chef Mickey HONEST REVIEW! I’ve heard lots of opinions about Chef Mickey’s. Some love it and some hate it. Here is my honest review!

🥞Food 5/10 - it was pretty basic with a few stand outs but mostly just your basic breakfast and nothing too special. They did have Strawberry Lemonade pancakes while we were there which were fun to try and very kid friendly. But it’s definitely not food I would come back for. If you aren’t adventurous eaters, this would probably be right up your alley. But if you like higher end food, this is not really your place.

🐭Characters 7/10 - I’ve seen some pretty amazing videos of character interactions at Chef Mickeys so I think it can definitely vary. Compared to other character interactions we’ve had, this was average. We did get to see some cute interactions between the characters and Goofy was a favorite.

💵 Price - She was pricey! For two adults and two kids, we paid $187.44 before tip.

Overall - the ambiance of Contemporary really adds to the overall appeal for this restaurant (and the location). It’s not a bad option for a character breakfast if you are in a neighboring resort because of ease. They are very quick so if you are trying to do a breakfast before MK, they would be really efficient. But if you are wanting to be more relaxed, there are better options like Ohana’s for breakfast. One up side is this is one of the only Character dinner spots where you can meet Mickey and the gang.

Missing Disneyland today! We typically take a trip around this time to see all the Halloween stuff but since we are moving (further away 😢) - I didn’t renew our passes. All our Disneyland memories have really been special to me and I’m so glad that I took the opportunity living close to make trips. They were never perfect but they always left me feeling like life couldn’t be better. I will always remember our Disneyland stroller days!

Don’t worry this doesn’t mean I’m never going back to Disneyland or won’t share Disneyland anymore. I will still take periodic trips for my work with and hopefully some amazing (even though less) frequent trips with the family.

You can now drink your Pumpkins drink by a Mickey Wreath because Starbucks fall drink line up launched yesterday! It’s the perfect way to spend a fall day at the Magic Kingdom.

It might not be fall in your neck of the woods but the fall season is in full swing at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. Magic Kingdom is fully decorated in all its fall decor (I see you Mickey wreaths) and we’ve already had 3 Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween parties.

In a few days, Disneyland will also have their Halloween decor up! I don’t know about you but I’m ready for the fall vibes 🍁🎃👻

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is on the best themed locations in all of Disney Springs. I was amazed by how many easter eggs were hidden throughout this whole bar and I’m not even an Indy buff. I easily spotted the dolls from Temple of Doom, Indy’s name in the locker, and (I’m pretty sure) that was the arc of the covenant from Raiders of the Lost arc. There are also references in here to Star Wars, the Jungle Cruise, and Pirates of the Caribbean. (DM me and I will send you a link to the wiki page with a bunch). The food and drinks were also amazing. We order lots of sharable plates and honestly nothing was bad. I would 100% return just for the food. Though the main room you walk into is smaller, they have a large patio that overlooks the lake. No reservations are needed which makes this a great walk up option. Definitely add this to your list the next time you are in Disney World and make sure to follow me for more tips on how to make your Disney World vacation amazing.

Though it didn’t end on a great note, 2024 was still a great year filled with some amazing experiences all over the world. Thanks for letting me take you with me! (And letting me plan some for you too)

Every evening at dusk in both the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland they do a flag ceremony that is really very special. Before they take the flag down, they honor service men and women from each division of our armed forces - Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force - by having the Dapper Dans sing a portion of each anthem. They invite anyone who served to come and stand and be recognized around the flag pole. Then they honor the American flag by removing it until dawn the next day while singing our national anthem. This is such a cool little thing that they do and it always makes me emotional. If you have a member of your family who has served, take the time during your Disney trip to honor them!
