Songs seem to find me when I'm painting... a bit like the winds of inspiration. They dance with me and collaborate... I love it so much.... gently finding music is as much a part of the process as painting itself. It can't be forced. I just know when it is the song for the moment. I have a core few that help get me started with my first few layers then I follow rabbit holes until there is a meet-cute with a song and I .

As I travel around I love creating circles by connecting the cleavage of rocks. To me this symbolises the vital connection of women to each another in navigating life. Each side of the cleavage line represents current life force and the other ancestral guidance.

All people need all types of connection and womens buisness and women's circles are age old necessities.

Whenever I'm in nature, I love making little arrangements with whatever is at hand.

I have been inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy since I was young.

I also remember dad taking me to the when I was about 8 to see Tibetan Monks make a sand mandala over a week or so before sweeping it away. That lesson in impermanence never left me and I enjoy the thought that someone may stumble accross something I made or it may just blow away.

Sometimes I'll be inspired to create something specific and other times I'll let nature take the lead by placing objects down in the order that I find them, or get Abel to collect them and pass them to me... which can feel more like a collaboration with serendipity that my own direction. Another way of relinquishing control of the outcome, marvel in the process and be surprised by the result.

Stacking rocks is an ancient practice with many spiritual meanings; they are symbols of stability, creativity, self-worth, strength, and fragility all at once. They provide a sense of peace and even bring good luck when stacked together.

THE GAP has arrived to its home in Hayborough

These clients are two of the sweetest people. I have loved following the journey of their coastal-luxe renovation. So I was honoured when they asked to buy THE GAP for their master bedroom.

Julia and Todd have spent a lot of time in The Territory, more than I, where I have spend more of my time on the Fleurieu before moving to Mparntwe.

I worked on this piece with a playful, childlike curiousity, reflecting on my first impression of those wild MacDonall Ranges. The light phenomenon that occurrs each day, where the masses of rock transform from low-contrast, milky shades of apricot and sage, to bold flashes of ochre, bronze, Scarlett and vibrant shades of orange.

The drama of the sheer rock face at knives edge with the skyline is something that can only be felt in the presence of this place.. but this is my playful attempt to share that experience.

Julia tells me the afternoon light it takes on a whole other colour caste which I can't wait to see... But I couldn't resist to post screenshots of her video to me.

This work was created in twilight hours where spirit gather. The place where I meet my friend to "dance in fields of flowers". Form dissipates here and become static again when I wake and the paint has dried.

So I'm taking this small window to create small windows to my soul.

With a cafe, a wondeful job and two children I sometimes feel like tombraider trying to blaze the path to solitude. But here is a moment that I will shamelessly capture to remind myself on the days that I forget where I have gone.

Not forgotten

Until now, the sun would rise and fall as her chest each breath.
She'd chase only the light, the warmth and yet.

As the years go on she's hiding away
Not wanting to say the truth nor a lie
But rather remain a memory only of light

There by her side, eclipsing the child;
Who Is captive inside
While she divides for her duty;
"Nurture them from your blood from your tears
from your milk from your fears."
Let everyone drive and wonders
if she's truly alive all these years

So turn the page and shed her skin,
Roll over to hold the shaddow within.
Stroke her and nuzzle with a loving grin
I'm here by your side we are going within.

As without you I'm weak
I need you my dear
Her light has no meaning
Without the darkest of feeling.
So she holds them both here
Through the wild ways of living.
And know that each end is another beginning.
And know that being is rather becoming.
And earnest feeling is the twin flame of knowing.

So let it pour in, don't close the door.
Let that baron trunk, grow branches once more.
With leaves that face directly to heaven
And roots spread downward in the dense spaces.
The most miraculous balance matters not if it's seen;
Just the purity of being

She climbs to the top from where apples had fallen.
Day breaks She looks out and sings no I'm not forgotten
And whispers back to herself "You are never alone. We are home"
