අද අපි ඔයාලට ගෙනාවෙ ගාල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ කහදූව, වතුරවිල ගුලන කන්ද සහ ඒ අවට ලස්සන නිස්කලංක පරිසරය වට කොට ගත්තු ආරන්‍ය සේණාසනයක් ගැන ...
ඇල්පිටිය, කහදූව මාර්ගයේ හෝ පිටිගල මාර්ගය ඔස්සේ කිලෝමීටර් 15ක් පමණ ගෙවා මෙම පුද බිමට ළඟා වෙන්න පුලුවන්. අප මෙහි යන විටත් ආරණ්‍ය සෙනසුනේ භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා ඉතාමත් සංසුන්ව නිහඬව සෙමින් සෙමින් වැලි මළුව අමදිමින් සිටිය.
අක්කර 80ක පමණ භූමි භාගයකින් යුත් මෙම සෙනසුනෙහි භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා 50කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් වැඩ වාසය කරනු ලබන අතර ඉන් බහුතරය සෙනසුනේ පිරිවෙන්ගතව ධර්ම ශාස්ත්‍රය හදාරනු ලබන සාමණේර භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා වෙති.
වතුරවිල වනවාසී ආරණ්‍ය සේනාසනය ආරම්භ කරනු ලැබූයේ 1953 වර්ෂයේදීය.
මෙවැනි පාරිසරික පසුබිමක ඉදිවූ ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාව පිළිබඳව කතාබහට ලක් කළ යුතුය. සුන්දර හාත්පස පරිසරය ඒකාලෝක කරමින් නැගී සිටින "කායොත්සර්ග අභය මුද්‍රාවෙන්" යුත් ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාව සැදැහැවතුන් දැහැන්ගත කරලීමට සමත් සංකේතයක් බවට පත්ව ඇත. උදෑසන අරුණාලෝකයත් සමඟින් හාත්පස තුරු වදුලට මුදාහැරෙන රශ්මියෙන් ප්‍රමුදිත මෙම ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාව අතීත සිරිලක පෞඪත්වය නැවත නැවතත් මෙනෙහි කරලීමට සමත්ව ඇත. මෙයට හේතුව ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාව පමණක් නොව, එහි මල් අසුන, පියගැට පෙළ, කොරවක්ගල් ආදී පසුබිම නිර්මාණ සියල්ල ශෛලමය නිර්මාණ වීමයි.
2008 දෙසැම්බර් වර්ෂයේ ආරම්භ කළ මෙම ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාව සැබැවින්ම අභියෝගයක් විය. මෙම මාහැඟි කර්ත්‍යය සඳහා මිනුවන්ගොඩ, ස්ටාර්ග්‍රැනයිට් ගල් කැටයම් අධිපති විශ්වකීර්ති දේශමාන්‍ය එච්.සී.එල්. වික්‍රමසිංහ මහතා ප්‍රමුඛ ලාංකේය නිර්මාණ පිරිස එක්වූහ. ඔවුහු මෙම කටයුත්ත යුගයේ අවශ්‍යතාවක් බවට පත් කර ගත් අතර කටයුත්ත ආරම්භ කළහ. හිත් පිත් නැති ඉහළට එසවණු කළුගල මොහොතින් මොහොත කුළු පහරින් පහර බිඳ දැමූහ. තද ශෛලමය කොටස අඩි 30ක් දක්වා කැනීම ආරම්භ කළ අතර නිවැරදි ස්ථරය මත බුදු රුව නෙලීම ආරම්භ කළහ.
අව් වැසි මධ්‍යයේ අඩි 42ක් උස වූ මෙම ශෛලමය හිටි පිළිමය මෙම වසර 08ක කාල සීමාව තුළ අවසන් කිරීමට බොහෝ වෙහෙස මහන්සි වූ අතර ඒ සඳහා රුපියල් කෝටි 05කට ආසන්න මුදලක් වැය වී ඇති බවට වනවාස සංඝ මූලස්ථානාධිපති අතිපූජ්‍ය මහකන්දේ රතනපාල ස්ථවිරයන් අප සමඟ පැවසූහ. අභය මුද්‍රාවෙන් යුත් මෙම ශෛලමය හිටි පිළිමය වසර සිය දහස් ගණනක් නොනැසි පවතින නූතන බොදු උරුමයකි.
පොලොන්නරු යුගයෙන් පසු ලාංකික නිර්මාණකරුවන් අතින් නිමැවෙන පළමු ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමා වහන්සේ මෙය බවත් රතනපාල ස්ථවිරයෝ අප සමඟ පවසා සිටියහ. සැදැහැවත් බෞද්ධයෙකු විසින් දැක පහන් සංවේගය උපදවා ගත යුතු නිර්මාණයක් ලෙස මෙම ශෛලමය බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමාව හඳුන්වා දිය හැකි අතර මේ සඳහා රටේ නන් දෙසින් බොහෝ පිරිස් උපකාර කර ඇති බවද අපට අවබෝධ විය. මේ සා විශාල මහා පරිත්‍යාගයන් සිදු කරමින් ඔවුහු සිදු කොට ඇති සම්මාදම සුළුවෙන් තැකිය හැක්කක් නොවනු ඇත. ඒ ආසන්නයේම ඉදිකොට ඇති අපවත් වී වදාළ අතිපූජ්‍ය වතුරවිල වනවාස මහනාහිමියන් වහන්සේ ශෛලමය ප්‍රතිමාව ද ජීවමාන ස්වරූපයෙන් ඉදිකොට ඇති අතර සැදැහැවතුන්ට උන්වහන්සේගේ කායික ලක්ෂණයන් පවා මනාව නිරූපණය වන ලෙස එය දැක ගත හැක.
අතීතයේ කාලයේ වැලිතලාවන්ගෙන් වැසී තිබූ ලාංකේය කලාකරුගේ නූතන භූමිකාව දැන් සක්සුදක්සේ පැහැදිලිය. හෙල කලා කරුවා එදා සිට මේ දක්වාම උරුමයෙන් ලද ස්වකීය කලා කෞශල්‍ය අදත් හෙටත් නොනැසී පවත්වාගෙන යාම උදෙසා කටුව මිටිය අත හැර නොමැත. එකී පරපුර තවමත් ජීවමානව අප අතර වෙසෙති.

කඩියන්ලෙන දිය ඇල්ල ඇත්තෙන්ම සංචාරකයන් අතර ප්‍රසිද්දියට පත් නොවූ ඉතා රමණීය ස්ථානයකි. එය දේශීය දිය ඇලි හඹායන්නන් අතර බෙහෙවින් ප්‍රචලිත වන අතර ඔබ සොබාදහමට ආදරය කරන්නෙක් නම් අනිවාර්යයෙන්ම නැරඹිය යුතු ස්ථානයකි.
මෙහි විශේශත්වය වන්නේ දිය ඇල්ල වැටී ඇත්තේ පෙද පාසිවලින් වැසුනු කොල පැහැයෙන් යුතු පැරණි ආරුක්කු පාලමක් හරහාය. පහල සිට නරබන්නෙකුට පෙනෙන්නේ තමන් වෙනම ලෝකයකට පැමිනි බවකි..එය එතරම්ම ආකර්ශනීය මනරම් දසුනකි.
කඩියන්ලෙන පිහිටා තිබෙන්නේ නවාලපිටිය තලවකලේ මාර්ගයෙ (බී -117) හරියටම කඩියන්ලේන ගම්මානයේ ය.
මෙම දිය ඇල්ලේ තට්ටු පහක් ඇති අතර සෑම වැටෙන පියවරක්ම පිරිසිදු ස්වාභාවික තටාක නිර්මාණය කරයි. ප්‍රදේශවාසීන් පවසන පරිදි, පළමු තටාකය අඩි 100 ක් පමණ ගැඹුරු වන අතර එහි නෑම සංචාරකයන්ට තහනම් කර ඇත. අනෙක් තටාක හතර සාපේක්ෂව ආරක්ෂිත වන අතර ගැඹුර අඩි 10 ට වඩා අඩුය. ජලය ඉතා පැහැදිලි, සිසිල් සහ නැවුම් ය;
දිය ඇල්ල අසල මත්පැන් පානය කිරීම තහනම් බැවින් පරිසරය ඉතා පිරිසිදුව හා සාමකාමීව පවතී. එය සාමාන්‍ය සංචාරකයින් අතර ජනප්‍රිය නොවන බැවින් බොහෝ ප්‍රසිද්ධ දිය ඇලි මෙන් එය ජනාකීර්ණ නොවේ. සති අන්තයේ පවා එය හිස් ය. නවලපිටිය ප්‍රදේශයේ හොඳ හෝටල් හෝ ආගන්තුක නිවාස නොමැති බව මතක තබා ගන්න, නමුත් එය ආසන්නතම විශාල නගරයයි.
ඔබ කඩියන්ලේනා දිය ඇල්ල දැකීමට අදහස් කරන්නේ නම්, කරුණාකර මෙම දර්ශනීය පරිසරයට හානි නොකර ඔබේ අඩි සටහන් පමණක් තබන්න මතක තබා ගන්න.

නකල්ස් සමූහයේ උසම ගොම්බානිය තරණය සහ කඳවුරු බැඳීම
ගොම්බානිය වූ කල්නහි නකල්ස් සමූහයේ උසම කඳු මුදුන ලෙස සැලකේ. එහි උස මීටර් 1900 ඉක්මවයි. (මීටර් 1906) .
ගොම්බානියට යන මාර්ගය පිහිටා ඇත්තේ හුළු ගඟේ අලකෝල වතුයායේ ය. එය නකල්ස්-කිරිගල්පොත්ත සහ යකුන්ග් හෙලා (දෙපැත්තේම) පරාසයන්ගෙන් ආන්තික වේ. අලකෝලා වතුයායේ රත්නතැන්න කොටසින් ගොම්බානිය වෙත ළඟාවීම පහසුය.
පාන්කොදරම කොලබින් පිටත්වූ අපි කොලඹ->නුවර->වත්තෙගම->හුලු ගග->අලකොළ වත්ත-> හරහා රත්නතැන්නට ලගාවනවිට ඉර අහසේ යම්දුරක් ගොස් තිබින.
තේ වතු පාර සහ කෙටිමං කිහිපයක් භාවිතා කිරීමෙන් අපට උදේ 11 ට පමණ තේ වතුයායේ මායිමට ළඟා විය. එය නිකේතනයක් ලෙස භාවිතා කරන බව පෙනෙන විවේක ස්ථානයක් තිබේ. අපි එහි විවේකයක් ගෙන අපේ බෑග් සමඟ කඳු නැගීමට පටන් ගත්තෙමු.එන මග මුනගැසුනු ගැමියෙකුගෙන් මාර්ගය අසාගත් අපගේ අභිප්‍රාය වූයේ අප විසින්ම ගවේෂණය කර මාර්ගෝපදේශයක් නොමැතිව ගොම්බානිය ඉහළට නැගීමය .
වනාන්තරයට ඇතුළු වූ පසු මාර්ගය දෙකට බෙදුනු ඇති අතර අපි වමට හැරුනේ එය ගොම්බානියට යා යුතු මාර්ගය විය යුතු යැයි සිතූ නිසාය. මෙම අඩි පාර වනාන්තරය තුළ යම්ඊ දුරක්ට ගොස් මාර්ගය අතුරුදහන් විය . අපි සෑම තැනකම සෙවූ නමුත් හෝඩුවාවක් සොයාගත නොහැකි විය. එවිට අපි සිතියම, මාලිමා යන්ත්‍රය සහ ජීපීඑස් උපාංගය භාවිතා කිරීමට තීරණය කරමු. තවත් පැය දෙකක් වනාන්තරය තුළට ඔබ මොබ තරණය කිරීමෙන් පසු අපට මළ කෙළවරක් ඇති ස්ථානයකට ළඟා විය. අහෝ ඛේදයකි,එය අප පසුකර පැමිනි ගමේ තවත් අන්තයකි. දැන් වෙලාව දහවල් 2.30 පමන වූ අතර විඩාබර හා බලපොරොත්තු සුන්වූ අප තවත් මිනිත්තු 30 පමන එම ස්තානයේම සිට විඩා නිව ගත්තෙමු .
රාත්‍රී යාමයේ දිවියන් ගැවසෙන බවක් පැවසූ ගැමියන් අප සමග ඉහල යාමට වැඩි කැමැත්තක් දැක්වූයේ නැත.කෙසේහෝ සන්තොස්සම දෙගුන කිරීමෙන් අපට ඉහල මග සොයාගැනීම අමාරු හරිය පහුවනතෙක් ඇරලවා ආපසු පැමිනීමට ගැමියන් දෙදෙනෙකු සහ බලු මිතුරෙකු ඉදිරිපත්විය.
බොහෝ විට අඩි පාරවල් පහසුවෙන් හඳුනාගත හැකි වන අතර. උණ සහ නෙළු පඳුරු වලින් වැසී ඇත. මෙම වනාන්තර ප්‍රදේශය හරහා අඩි පාරක් ගමන් කරන අතර අපට විවෘත ප්‍රදේශ ගණනාවක් ද හමු විය.
පැත්ලි පාෂාණ සහිත විව් පොයින්ට් කිහිපයක්ද විය. එය නැගීම් බැසීම් සහිත ගමනක් වූ අතර එකකින් තවත් තැනකට අප “ගොම්බානිය කඳු මුදුනට” ළඟා වන තෙක් ගමන් කළෙමු.
ගොම්බානියා තුළ උප කඳු මුදුන් ගණනාවක් ඇති අතර ප්‍රසිද්ධ උප කඳු මුදුන පැත්ලි පෙනුමකින් යුතු විශාල පාෂාණයකින් නිර්මානයවී ඇත.
කෙසේ හො අප ඒ ලගාවනවිට තමන් ඉදිරියේ යන එකා නොපෙනෙන ගානට හතරාතින් කලුවර වැටී තිබිනි අවසාන හැතැප්ම යාගත්තේ ෆෝන්වල පිහිටෙනි .
සත්‍ය උච්චතම ස්ථානය පිහිටා ඇත්තේ මෙම උප කඳු මුදුනට මීටර් 500, 1000ක් පමණ දුරිනි.
අප රාත්‍රීය ගතකිරීමට තෝරාගත් එම ගල්තලාව එක් කෙලවරකින් මීටර 100 පමණ වූ පාතාලයකින් මායිම් වූ තර අනෙක් පසින් වූයේ ලදු කැලෑවකි අප කඳවුරු බැදීමට තෝරා ගත්තේ මෙමෙ පාතාල බෑවුමට මායිම් යූ කුඩා ගස්ගොන්නක් සහිත බිමකි මෙයද ගල්තලාවම වූ අතර කූඩාරම ඇටවූපසු එය තිරස් නොවූ අතර අංශක 15 පමණ ආනත් විය. කෙසේහෝ අප පහලට ලිස්සානොයා නිදියා ගැනීමට වෙහෙසක් දැරීමට සිදුවිය.
රාත්‍රිය මෙන්ම උදෑසන හිරු දර්ශනය ද තවමත් මතකයේ ඇති බොහෝ සුන්දරත්ව අතර ඉතිරිව පවතී.

කොන්ඩගල යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පළමු වාණිජ තේ වතුයාය, ලූල්කන්දුර වතුයායේ පිහිටි සුන්දර හා ආකර්ශනීය කන්දකි. එය 1800 ගනන් වල පැමිනි ශ්‍රීමත් ජේම්ස් ටේලර්ගේ දේපළකි. ඔහු සුප්‍රසිද්ධ බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය වෙළෙන්දෙකි.
ලූල් කදුර වතුයාය පිහිටි දෙල්තොටට , මහනුවර-ගලහා මාර්ගයෙන් ලඟා වීම ඉතා පහසුය. දෙල්තොට නගරයේ ප්‍රධාන මංසන්ධියේ සිට ලූල්කන්දුර දක්වා මාර්ගයක් ඇති අතර එම මාර්ගය සුන්දර වටපිටාවකින් නිමවා ඇත. තව දුරටත් අපට ලුල්කන්දුර වෙත යන මාර්ගයේ ඈතින් යෝධ කොන්ඩගල පර්වතය දැක ගත හැකිය.
යන අතරමගදී ඔබට ජේම්ස් ටේලර්ගේ ළිඳ සහ ආසනය සඳහා නාම පුවරු හමු වනු ඇත, බොරළු පාරට දකුණට හැරී මීටර් කිහිපයක් ඉදිරියට යන්න. එවිට මාර්ගයේ ගේට්ටුවක් ඇත. ටිකට් පත අය කරනු ලබන්නේ වාහනය සඳහා පමණි. ඊට පසු ඔබට පටු මාර්ගයෙන් වතුයායේ කෙළවරට කිලෝමීටර් 5 ක් පමණ ඉදිරියට යා යුතුය.
තේ වතුයායේ අවසානය හා වනාන්තරයට ආසන්නව පිහිටි බංගලාවේ දකුණු පැත්තේ කුඩා අඩි පාරක් ඔබට හමුවනු ඇත. එම අඩිපාර දිගේ ඉහළට ඇවිදින්න. එය කොන්ඩගල කන්ද මුදුනට මිනිත්තු 15 ක් පමණ ඉහළට යාමකි.
පාෂාණ මිටියාවතේ අංශක 90 ක බෑවුම නිසා කොන්ඩගල ඉතා භයානක කන්දකි. එය මීටර් 200 ක් පමණ දිග සහ උස 150 කි. සුළඟ වේගවත් බැවින් කරුණාකර ඔබ ඉහළින් සිටින විට ප්‍රවේශම් වන්න. හන්තන, ගම්පෝල වැනි කඳු ඔබට දැක ගත හැකිය. යෝධ පාෂාණ තැනිතලාව පැතලි තට්ටුවක් වැනි ය. එබැවින් කූඩාරම් නොමැතිව 100 කට වැඩි පිරිසකට නවාතැන් ගත හැකිය.
අපි එහි පැය 2-3 ක් පමණ ගත කරන අතර එය ඉතා ලස්සන ස්ථානයකි. නමුත් හිරු රශ්මියෙන් සැඟවීමට කිසිදු ස්ථානයක් නොමැත. ඊට පස්සේ අපි ළිඳේ හා ආසනයේ නටබුන් බලන්න ගිහින් දවසේ ඊළඟ ගමනට ගියා

Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. It was the third capital of the Kingdom of Rajarata, following the kingdoms of Tambapanni and Upatissa Nuwara.
The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the centre of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries. The city lies 205 km (127 mi) north of the current capital Colombo in the North Central Province, on the banks of the historic Malvathu Oya. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and one of the eight World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.

Kondagala is a beautiful and attractive Mountain situated in the First commercial tea estate of Sri Lanka called Loolkandura. It is a property of Sir James Taylor in 1918, he is a famous British trader where he done a great service to the Sri Lanka.
It is very easy to reaching via Kandy- Galaha side as there are such beautiful surroundings till Delthota. And from the main junction at Delthota town there is a road to Loolcandura and that road is fulfil with beautiful surroundings. Further we can see the giant Kondagala range on the way to Loolcandura.
On the way you will find name boards for James Taylor’s well and Seat, turn right to the gravel road and proceed few meters. Then there will be a gate on the road. The ticket will charge only for the vehicle. After that you have to proceed about 4-6km to the end of the estate where the road get 2 feet narrow. Before that you will find the name board for well and seat. Turn left to the ruins of the bungalow and well. The road might closed. Hence you have to park your vehicles over the estate road and walk about 200m to the ruins of the bungalow. From there you will find a small foot path at the right side of the bungalow where the end of the tea estate and near to the jungle. Walk along that footpath to the top. It is just about 15 minutes hike to the top of the Kondagala Mountain.
Kondagala is a very dangerous Mountain due to the 90 degree slope of the rocky plain. It is about 200m long and 150 heights. Please be careful when you at the top because the wind is too speed. You can see many mountains such as Hanthana, Gampola, etc. The giant rocky plain is like a flatbed hence there could be accommodate for more than 100 people without any camping tent.

stablished in UNESCO heritage list, Knuckles mountain range features 34 peaks ranging in height between 1900 meters and 900 meters of which, located at the southern border of knuckles, Gombaniya is considered as the highest mountain of the range with an elevation of 1906m. Gombaniya can be reached either from Allakolle estate side or Kabaragala side.
Existence of forest patches with bamboo bushes in this section differentiate from typical knuckles forest formations of wet semi-evergreen forest, tropical sub montane grassland & Patana, pygmy forest, rock outcrop forest, while making the hike difficult and hard to track.
At the summit, one could appreciate the majestic scenery of gombaniya range and Yakunge hela, its companion, with it's east-facing vertical, craggy, rocky escarpments forming a remarkable drop towards Wallapomulla side. The river flowing at the bottom of the abyss called Kuda oya, later meets up with Kalu ganga which rises from Kalupahana. On a clear day, one could enjoy a spectacular sun rise over the eastern ocean from summit point and witness a magnificent sun set from the west. On the other side of the mountain Campbell’s lane forest reserve and Hunnasgiri peak could also be seen.

Around the world are several natural and man-made formations that have earned the name ‘the Devil’s Staircase’. Amongst them Sri Lanka has one of the most dangerous. This famous route is a 14km long trail of sharp zig-zag twists that are extremely steep and difficult, but quite thrilling to travel. The trail begins from the Horton Plains road in beautiful Ohiya and passes through tea estates to the region of Kalupahana on the A4 Main Road; or vice versa. You can also chose end the trail near Bambarakanda Falls; a kilometer or so before Kalupahana.
The Devil’s Staircase can be hiked or traversed by a 4WD vehicle as it is quite uneven in some places despite having a reasonable width. The route also features some breathtaking sceneries and other interesting things to see.
The Hike through Hell
You can chose to hike uphill or downhill. Each has its pros and cons. The route is quite steep; so going on a continuous uphill in the mountainous region of Central Sri Lanka can be hard on the lungs; whilst the downhill is hard on the legs as you need muscle strength to balance. However, these two starting points have their own thrills and challenges. The description here takes the uphill option and starts from one of the most popular spots, Bambarakanda Rest near the beautiful waterfalls of Bambarakanda.
The hike is best begun at dawn. Then you can watch the sunrise reflecting off the waters of Bambarakanda Falls as you refresh yourself before starting. The terrain will be quite rough so it is suggested that you wear good hiking boots; and fairly warm clothing as the temperature can drop suddenly. It is also important that you bring a raincoat or other protective clothing to be ready for the sudden rainfalls of Ohiya. A good hiking guide will be necessary as it is quite easy to be misdirected on the trail.
The Devil’s Staircase passes by the stream that creates Bambarakanda Falls, and along dangerously narrow ridges before widening. The trail remains quite uneven throughout; but often opens up to beautiful vistas of the valleys to the South or the mountains to the North.
You will pass by many challenging areas where you will have to traverse carefully, which will make you recall the name of the trail. You will also be able to visit a natural pool fed by a clear spring and a Hindu/Buddhist temple along the way.
As you get towards the end of the Devil’s Staircase, the trail will pass through beautiful green tea estates. You will also pass through the ’V Cut’, a popular attraction of the route. Here a ‘V’ shaped channel has been carved into a hill in a time long past, to allow the Devil’s Staircase to pass through. You pass through a harsh section before coming out on the Ohiya Road, not far from Horton Plains. This will mark the end of your hike. You will be able to finish it by 4pm.
If you chose to take a 4WD; the Devil’s Staircase takes 4 hours to travel due to the bumpy route.
