First lets correct the confusion in all your minds about what the abbreviation MRS stands for. Started out as a family run business from fathers and sons and now passed down to us the grandchildren. We have taken up the challenge of delivering the best top quality fabrics in the industry to you our loyal and valued customers. Our Fathers and grandfathers along with the help of their wives obviousl

y providing the fashion aspect, you know women run the house right!!! Have been providing this service since they arrived in the UK (1973…)…. My story…

I started off working in the markets from a young age. Not even working, just running around helping out the family serve you in the Birmingham Bullring Markets. The Market was constantly moving from location to location until they finally decided to locate the markets in Centre where you can find us today. My favourite was by far the old bus depot, that’s where I got my first scale electric set, from an auction for like ten pound. Was onE of the best purchases of my life. Saying that I’m sure dad paid. I broke it the day I brought it. The excitement lasted for a short while but lasted enough for me to fall in love with business and the idea of business. Sounds weird, how does something you just spent money on breaking and not being able to use it again give you business. Well it was at that point I had a mini flashback in that moment of three minutes before winning my auction. Me my sisters my brothers and my dad arrived at the auction and they where selling a make up item. In front of me a huge crowd and on a truck, I didn’t realize then but now after watching hours of Eddie Stobart and Trucking, I now know that the auction was actually taking place on the truck with the side panel opened up. The noise was electric people smiling u know eating the local burgers and hot dogs; I had my orange juice building on my vitamins at that age. The man on the truck shouting, the people in the crowd yelling. I have to admit did think it was a bit weird. Then the auctioneer shouted SOLD. The lady went up to the side of the truck gladly handed over money and took her item and came back. Then the auctioneer shouted, “we have ten scale electric sets to give away”. I’m a young boy you cant blame my neck for naturally snapping up and looking in amazement, and I know when you went to the high street that these things cost a fortune so I never asked my dad because times were hard. My mum and dad never let us know but we knew times were difficult so we tried not asking for much. The man shouted again,” giving them away fifteen pound”, I was like “mmmmmmm”, sounds fair but I still had that hesitation in me maybe its too much dads going to struggle. Then the auctioneer said, “I’m giving them away at £10,”. I still remember the moment my puppy eyes looking up to my father tugging his trousers you know the typical movie scene, well I am proud to say I nailed it, and my dad raised his hand and BOOOM. It was mine, all mine, my preciousssss. Haha. Its true, that moment I realized the excitement that business has on people, and how it effects there happiness and how offering a good deal and what is fair and just. So when it broke obviously I was upset but knew that I had got a bargain and I was like for those few moments as a child I had what I wanted. The power of business did that, we didn’t have much but my parents always provided. May my maker be pleased with them and bless them long healthy lives and all those parents who are struggling and striving or who have struggled and strived and made it may you all live long healthy lives. So that you can spend your money with me. (cheeky joke) I genuinely mean that, us as children sometimes we don’t appreciate what we have until its gone. Its strange and only later on I realized that the man played into the psychology of our minds and over time working and Tesco and educating myself and looking at social norms and what is expected I know now that we are a service nation. So yeah and my dad obviously being a business man helped so much in terms of my business morals. I’m sorry to bore you like this, just thought I would share a small story with yourselves. Moving smoothly forward I studied Entrepreneurship and Management as my postgraduate and then went on to Aston University to do my Postgraduate in International Business. For the last eight years of my life I have worked at Tesco as a Tesco Supervisor on the Checkouts meeting a diverse range of customers. I left on the 3rd May 2015. It was a very sad day for me. All the staff taught me so much I loved my time there and learnt more than I had originally bargained for. I learn how to deal with customer problems; I learnt how to treat staff in a fair manner and how to provide top quality customer service to my customers understanding the importance of retained customers. I genuinely miss all my staff and customers and wish them all the very best. I’m afraid to say I can’t say the same about my management. Don’t think I will be missing them although I learnt how not to behave with staff from them for this I am every grateful. Please excuses the honesty just don’t believe in hiding the truth. “I wish the best for my staff and customers and wish to meet them soon”. When did the idea of MRSTEXTILES.LONDON start? Running around and noticing that there is more demand online and more customers wanted to go online to purchase their goods and materials. I realized I also have to go online to provide ease for my customers and get online to provide a platform for all my customers. So over the last three months I have been developing the website with the help of a beloved friend. Also has been setting up new premises in order to fully function and provide and efficient way of working in order to provide quality service. My combining my knowledge of what I have learnt from the markets and what I have learnt at university I hope to have produced a platform of success for myself but more importantly for YOU. Thanks for taking your time out and reading this long boring story just feel it’s nice when you know who your buying from. Thanks and enjoy the MRSTEXTILES.LONDON EXPERIENCE.
