Are you aware of Potter County's famous Moon Tree? This sycamore was grown from a seed that traveled to the Moon aboard Apollo 14 on January 31, 1971. The sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) planted at Coudersport Area Recreational Park in the late 70's has grown to a height of over forty feet.

There’s a plaque commemorating the tree, which is one of many “moon trees” that were planted across the country after the seeds were carried on Apollo 14. If you are heading to Potter County to explore Dark Skies at Cherry Springs State Park this year, you might want to explore the region and discover this curious site that is featured on the popular Atlas Obscura website. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/potter-county-moon-tree

Yesterday was a record breaking day for our two AirBnBs, 3 bookings for Hidden Hills Hideaway in Williamsport and 1 booking and an inquiry for Olde Glen Lodge in Austin, PA—ALL BEFORE CHURCH! 🤯
Saying all of that, I can no longer book directly. If you have already booked with me — no worries! You are covered! but I need to book through the AirBnB app moving forward so I don’t have calendar confusion.
If you are interested in booking either for a little get-a-way I can send you the link.

SINNEMAHONING WATER TRAIL
The Sinnemahoning Water Trail offers paddlers more than 75 miles to explore through picturesque landscapes. Spend the day in heart of Pennsylvania’s Wild Elk Country as you paddle through the Bennett's Valley. Enjoy a scenic adventure in Bucktail Natural Area in Driftwood Valley and wonder at the beautiful Elk and Sproul State Forest in Sinnemahoning Valley. The Bennett Branch and Driftwood Branches begin as small streams high the mountains of Elk and Cameron Counties. As these streams reach the valley floors they are transformed into beautiful calm rivers. In the town of Driftwood, the Bennett Branch and Driftwood Branch converge to form the mighty the Sinnemahoning Creek, which is famous for outstanding paddling and fishing opportunities.
