Shihan Kim Dunn is an authentic 8th Dan Black Belt celebrating 50 years of teaching and training. A former National and Provincial Champion, he was also the co-coach of the winning Ontario Black Belt Team for 4 consecutive years. Kim has been awarded black belt Dan certification from such renowned teachers as the late Kim-Hooi Wong (Shotokan Karate Assoc. of Malaysia), The late O-Sensei Masami Tsu

ruoka, Soke Tak Kubota and Kancho Takemasa Okuyama. An accomplished competitor Kim was a 3-time recipient of the prestigious "Ontario Sports Achievement Award ". He was the reigning "Ont.black belt Kata Champion for 4 years running and represented Canada at the AAKF USA National Championships, San Francisco and at the 4th World Karate Championships in Cairo Egypt 1983. In 2015 Kim founded TKAC (Traditional Karate Arts Canada) with his long time friend and co-chief instructor Tom Okura Sensei. Together they are actively teaching and sharing their vast knowledge, to those who wish to experience the many benefits, challenges and rewards of martial arts practice.

A former National and Provincial Champion, he was also the co-coach of the winning Ontario Black Belt Team for 4 consecutive years. Kim has been awarded black belt Dan certification from such renowned teachers as the late Sensei Kim-Hooi Wong (Shotokan Karate Assoc. of Malaysia), The late O-Sensei Masami Tsuruoka, Soke Tak Kubota and Kancho Takemasa Okuyama.

Recently Kim was 1 out of 9 martial artists from across the country chosen to be inducted into the prestigious 2017 Canadian Black Belt Hall of Fame which was held in Gatineau, Quebec. He gratefully shares this honour with renowned, world class martial artists.

In 2015 Kim founded TKAC (Traditional Karate Arts Canada) www.tkac.ca with his long time friend and Joint Chief Instructor, Tom Okura Sensei. Together they passionately teach and share their vast knowledge, to instructors and students alike, who wish to experience the many benefits, challenges and rewards of martial arts practice.
