When you arrive at your Disneyland or Walt Disney World vacation, you’ll notice a plethora of people wearing pins. Pins that say: “Just Married”, “I’m Celebrating”, “Happy Birthday” or “1st Time Visit”. You can get these from your resort and various shops in the park. You might think they look crazy, but you surprisingly can get some perks from them!

Cast Members are God’s gift to earth- you can’t convince me otherwise. They’ll go out of their way to talk to you about your pin. Wish you a happy birthday, talk to you about what you’re celebrating- congratulate you, wish you a happy marriage, welcome you to Disney and thank you for visiting. We’ve had free desserts, a comped meal, stickers, complimentary lightning lane passes added to our MagicBand- all because of our pins.

It’s impossible to look ridiculous in Disney- don’t try to be too cool for the pins. They’re beneficial & a lot of fun!

Understanding Virtual Queue & Lightning Lane is a MUST before going on your vacation. They’re not the same thing- not even close.

By booking your vacation with me, I’ll take a nose dive into details on how to manage Virtual Queue & Lightning Lane, and teach you to have the confidence navigating it through your My Disney Experience app. I’ll share tips & tricks I’ve learned along the way and mistakes I’ll never make again.

PRO TIP: If your “boarding group” for your Virtual Queue is called while you’re at your dining reservation, fear not and DON’T RUSH OUT OF THERE. Take your time, enjoy your meal, and hold on to your receipt. Show the Cast Member working the Lightning Lane Queue at your designated attraction and they’ll let you hop right on.

Story time: This week, I had a friend call me regarding her upcoming trip to Walt Disney World in April. I’m not her travel planner. We were discussing random things like strollers. We started talking about her resort: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (a deluxe resort) with a savanna view. I laughed about how great the discounts are right now and that I hoped she took advantage of it. She mentioned that she hasn’t. I took a look at her reservation and saw that she was spending $719 a night for her savanna view; however, at this particular resort, she qualifies for 30% off her room. By adding this discount, it reduced her nightly cost to $503. For her 5 night stay, 4 day park hopper, this discount saved her $1,465. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼$1,465👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

If Walt Disney World has been on your radar, you’ve probably realized that it can be a little (okay, a lot) overwhelming to get started. I had a client tell me the other day she pushed off this trip last year because she felt too lost to even begin. Those words are like nails on a chalkboard for me because I want to help!!

I’m here to give you my 5 tips for planning a great trip.

1. Start sooner than you think. Disney rewards people for booking early. Think supply & demand. Rooms fill up, cost go up. Don’t wait to book. If Disney runs a promotion down the line, I’ll be the first to reach out to have that applied to your total (last year, I saved my Mom & my family over $1,000 on our room).

2. Start reviewing Dining options. One of the most underrated items in Disney World is the FOOD. And it’s GOOD. Know where to go to get the biggest bang for your buck and don’t end up eating chicken strips every meal.

3. After we book your room, start getting familiar with the My Disney Experience app. This is where you can mobile order food, book Lightning Lanes, and about 9,000 other things.

4. Learn about your transportation options around your chosen hotel. Y’all, Disney World is HUGE! It operates as its own city. Some resorts offer boats, monorail, and skyliner. All resorts offer complimentary bus transportation to and from the parks.

5. Trust yourself, and your planner. There’s a lot of advice, but remember you know your family best. Express your wants and needs - trust that I value you & your vacation needs. Sit tight knowing your best vacation awaits.

This offer is available for 7 days after your check out date and provides you a discount on your room at your next visit. A value resort is 25% off, a moderate resort is 30% off, and a deluxe resort is 35% off. This can save you hundreds of dollars on your overall vacation!!

I, personally, take advantage of this offer, as we know we’re going to Disney World every year. BUT, for those who are on the fence about going back, they’d love to, but aren’t necessarily sure, I’d recommend taking advantage of this offer. Disney allows you to secure this rate with a $200 deposit, and it’s REFUNDABLE. So let’s say you decide to not take this trip. No worries, we’ll cancel & get your money back.

*There are blackout dates to these discounted rates, so you’ll need to be flexible with your travel dates.
*You can switch resorts & dates down the line (availability permitting). Let’s say you originally booked a moderate resort, but you’re wanting nicer accommodations, you can move your resort to a deluxe.

Do you have young kids and think they’d love a Disney vacation, but you’re hesitant to face the crowds, cost, and patience required to navigate the parks? Then a Disney Cruise might be best for you. Sit back and relax while the Disney Magic does the work for you when you set sail on a Disney Cruise. With multiple destination spots, including Disney’s very own island Castaway Cay, a Disney Cruise provides the luxury and magic only Disney can provide.

Similar to a MagicBand+ used in the parks, DisneyBand+ is vital to the convenience of your vacation. Is it necessary for you to set sail? No, definitely not. But, does it make life a lot more convenient, absolutely. With a slight, additional cost, this band is something I’d highly recommend adding to your upcoming (or next!) cruise!

Timing is everything when it comes to planning a Walt Disney World vacation.

The best time to go is that sweet spot when prices are reasonable, crowds are manageable, and temperatures are tolerable. The stars align a few times a year when all three can happen to be at their ideal, at the same time. If you can’t hit them all, aim for two out of three.

My personal favorite? That first week of December. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is more magical than Christmas in Disney.

Picture yourself walking down Main Street. Faux snow is raining down, Christmas music is playing, Christmas decor is everywhere, the Christmas trees are so massive, you have to crank your neck up and shield your eyes from the sun, Minnie & Mickey are in their cutest Christmas fits. You have a Starbucks in hand and green & red ears on your head, with Christmas lights flashing around your neck. The kids have bubble wands that shoot snow and they have gingerbread and peppermint snacks in hand. You’re not fighting those pesky Christmas crowds that can be so overwhelming. Trust me when I say, this is one of the best travel tricks I can give you.

1. Work together to determine travel dates, resort, ticket type and price for your Disney vacation package.

2. I put the agreed upon vacation package on hold, then email it to you for final approval. Once approved, I’ll send you an email with a secure link where you’ll provide contact and credit card information for the required deposit.

3. I make the deposit with Disney on your behalf then the detailed planning begins with sharing my guide book that’ll get you excited for this vacation!

4. I will be several steps ahead of you in the planning process and am available to you via email, text, calls, and can be persuaded with meet ups for coffee to answer any and all questions.

I can’t wait to start planning your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. This will be FUN!

Taking your little one to Walt Disney World for the first time? Take the time to measure them before you go. Nothing is more heartbreaking than walking up to a much anticipated ride and being turned away because your kiddo doesn’t quite reach that height requirement.

We always measure them, then watch whatever ride they’re tall enough to ride on YouTube. To say they’re pumped up after that is an understatement. This last trip, both of my boys measured tall enough for Slinky Dog, and for a solid 2 weeks, we watched the ride every day because they were so excited.

Follow up after they rode: only 1 of 2 liked Slinky Dog. 🤷🏽‍♀️

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT.

1. Lines get long- this includes quick service meals as well. Mobile order ahead of time. Just hopped off Kilimanjaro Safaris and want some BBQ? Pull out that phone, open your My Disney Experience App, and place your order. By the time you get to the restaurant, your food will be ready.

2. Genie+ is going to be your best friend and pass to the ultimate time saver. More on this once we book together!

3. 9 times out of 10, if my family is going to Disney, my Mom and Grandpa (91 years old!!) are coming too. Parents, we DESERVE time to ourselves on vacation as well. Date nights are important. One on one time is important. We can’t get time back- we’re reminded constantly of that with our kids- but we don’t often apply that to our parents and grandparents. Take the trip. Invite the extra hands. You’ll make multigenerational memories that’ll last a lifetime.

It’s going to rain if you’re at Walt Disney World. I don’t care if there’s a zero percent chance of rain. Odds are, in Orlando, it’s going to rain at some point. Now, we’ve gotten caught in Disney without rain gear and panicked purchased a few Disney ponchos. But that was YEARS ago when everything wasn’t ridiculously inflated, and now they’re $10-15 a pop. And idk about you, but as a family of 5, I’m not paying for that. When we go to Disney, we always pack ponchos. We buy flimsy ones off Amazon for like $1 that we can toss after using them. We also have 2 adult, Disney ponchos that we purchased all those years ago. They’re sturdy and thick and those bad boys are reliable. We also have a stroller rain shield. Kids get cranky in Disney. You know what makes kids even more cranky? Wet and cold kids. Roll that bad boy up alongside your ponchos, throw it in a freezer size ziplock in your backpack and have it ready to go for when rain strikes. ALSO! Bonus packing tip: bring extra shoes. We went to Disney for the weekend and I only packed 1 pair of shoes for everyone. A freak monsoon blew in on our first day and our shoes were DRENCHED. I had to sit there and blow dry them for hours so we could wear them the next day. Don’t make my same mistake!
