🙏Danube made it special for us again: with a boat trip between the Bulgarian river islands, cycling across the border to spectacular lakes and gorgeous Romanian monastery, having a picnic by the river and a stay in a cool traditional Bulgarian guest house. Thanks to our hosts in Tutrakan, Vetren, Ostrov and Baneasa
🚴‍♀️🍑🚴‍♂️We enjoyed the Bulgarian and the Romanian tasty food of fresh garden salads, Danube fish & caviar, wineleaves sarmi and grilled mici, apricots and mamaliga.
🇧🇬🏁🇷🇴We’ve finished our 2-days long Danube section by speed boat & bikes just before the heatwave stroke the Balkans. We’ve been quite a diverse group with trekking bikes, ebikes, gravel bikes, Bulgarians+American+Romanian, all riding along the ancient Roman frontier along the Lower Danube.

🚴‍♂️🔥🚴‍♀️Between the Danube and the Black Sea in Bulgaria lies a historic region adorned by plateaus. We hopped with Jim Johnson from one plateau to the next, experiencing top archaeological sites and ultimate cultural adventures.

The Black Sea bike experience with Jim Johnson in Bulgaria. Cycling through the 6500-years old layer of Varna Culture and an evening meeting with the "latest" bike generation😀! We’re seeing Jim in a great shape, enjoying the riding, the communication with local villagers and cyclists or bike and government leaders. I suppose the perfect shiny weather on the Bulgarian Black sea coast helps too. We’ve been spending precious time, exchanging thoughts and experience with a real self-constituted bike person and motivator and not with a “talking head” about the modern trends and realities!

Guiding a group of cyclists from Asia is an unforgettable experience after 3 years of ride leading depression! We started in the juicy Balkan Mountain Range of Bulgaria and the next stage will be the Medieval cradle of the Bulgarian State and its world heritage!🥰
