Magical Madagascar 😍

Of all the places I’ve been fortunate enough to visit nowhere rivals Madagascar for sheer bonkersness.

From its enigmatic wildlife, weird and beautiful landscapes, vibrant culture and astonishing beaches and marine life it has so much for the adventurous traveller.

And if you want to visit in style then there is the fantastic, perfect , quite simply the most amazing island escape I’ve ever been 🤩

African Wild Dogs Wild Dogs are one of my favourite animals to encounter on safari .  They are notoriously hard to reliably locate as they are endangered and have gigantic territories through which they move at speed, so it’s always super exciting to spot them, but during our Summer month

My previous post didn’t do it justice, so here’s a proper look

It’s an astonishingly beautiful lodge, with 4 exclusive 4 bedroom safari houses, perfect for friends and families. Each house has its own unique style with fabulous contemporary artwork, as well as an extensive wine cellar and private chef.

Luxurious electric vehicles elevate the game viewing experience which is superb, as Cheetah Plains is located in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve where Big 5 sightings are almost guaranteed.

Well, in a shock move my Husband and Chief Safari Sidekick has decided that he wants to be at Flatdogs Camp for his impending BIG birthday this September and I have to say that (for once 🤣) I'm pretty happy to go along with his plans...

Asilia’s Oliver’s Camp In Tarangire was the last stop before we hit the beach - phew!

What a place for our last night in the bush, cute little tented rooms with great views, a great pool, lovely poolside dining set up and hornbill friends at breakfast 😍

Lake Manyara - what a revelation!

Whilst flooding has shrunk the area of this National Park (making game viewing more difficult), it still makes the most brilliant destination for a stopover on the way to a Serengeti Safari.

There is so much to do from cycling through the nearby villages (we didn't have enough time for this but the bikes looked great!), to exploring the lake by canoe, to clambering through treetop canopy walkways.

And oh! WAYO’s new Manyara Green Camp is just fabulous! It's just been rebuild in the most beautiful location, with a waterfall, a sandy beach perfect for sundowners and gorgeous new tents full of local design elements and with retractable roofs for stargazers!! I absolutely loved this place & wish I’d been able to stay longer.

Our last stop in the Serengeti - Wilderness's Usawa Migration Camp

The zebra and wildebeest herds were everywhere and we enjoyed superb hospitality, guiding, food and wine!

This is the camp for you if you'd like to follow the migration in style.

Next stop on June’s Tanzania recce was Asilia Africa's Namiri Plains Camp.

Located in a remote corner of the Serengeti it's a rich habitat for big cats, particularly cheetah and lion which we saw in abundance!.

What an outstanding experience it was, from the awesome hospitality, the superb accommodation and our hilarious guide Innocent, who kept the laughs and sightings coming, from lions to Matabele Ants. Just an exceptional safari from start to finish!

We had such a great stay at Nomad’s Serengeti Safari Camp!

It’s a mobile camp so the feeling is authentic & traditional, the wildlife was great, the hospitality excellent and our guide, Edward, was a superstar & made our stay 🤩

A little slice of heaven!

Gibbs Farm is a gorgeous, luxurious lodge, rich in history with beautiful cottage rooms, views for miles, beautiful gardens and an organic farm supplying 85% of the restaurant’s food.

There is so much to do here, from farm tours to birdwatching, yoga, running, and hiking the surrounding forests. Storytelling and sundowners around the fire is the perfect way to end the day.
