Just saw a question in a different group that said, “Why did you start your business?”

I started my tour business because there’s nothing more fulfilling to me than seeing the pure joy and wonder on someone’s face when they experience a place they’ve only dreamed about. There’s a magic that comes with stepping into a new country, tasting unfamiliar foods, hearing different languages, and soaking in the culture. It’s transformative.

I realized that many people have the desire to see the world but hesitate because of the unknown—traveling alone, navigating a foreign country, or simply figuring out where to begin. That’s where I come in.

My greatest joy is creating those “pinch me” moments for others, whether it’s watching someone marvel at iconic landmarks, delight in local traditions, or share laughter with a group of newfound friends. I love being able to take away the stress of planning and logistics so people can fully embrace the adventure they’ve been waiting for.

To me, travel is about connection—connecting with the world, with each other, and even with parts of yourself you might not have discovered yet. I started this business to make those connections possible, to help people turn their travel dreams into unforgettable realities.

Looking for some holiday cheer? Head over to the for a delightful day on the property! They are open and it’s fabulous! Stay on property at their hotel, enjoy the trails, do a house tour (their evening Candlelight Christmas tours are amazing), shop and eat in the stable, take the shuttle@to@the conservatory, pop down to Antler Hill Village for more food and shopping. It’s such a lovely place, worth a visit, and bustling with activity! You can feel the Christmas cheer in the air!
We just went yesterday (I am an annual pass holder and go often) and yesterday was one of my favorite visits!
Asheville is rebuilding and while some of the roads are closed, you can still get around (just follow your GPS). I loved seeing the “Asheville Strong” posters letting people know they are working hard to rebuild after such a devastating storm and flooding.
Visiting the Biltmore is a great way to get in the Christmas spirit while also helping Asheville recover by providing business.

Beyond Our Fence

Hey! I’m Susan, the main blogger of this travel-focused site. Glad you could stop by! Along with me on these ongoing adventures is my husband, Josh, and son, Aden (and sometimes a random family member we drag along). We have done a bit of traveling together and look forward to much, MUCH more. We’re looking forward to sharing some great tips, travel ideas, experiences of our own, and hopefully some inspiration to get you to go beyond your own fence and explore this amazing world!

Our travel style is: See as much as we can, do as much as we can, for as cheap as possible, and as crowd-less as possible.
