Getting to know me. The me that is not “just” a travel advisor.

2 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life, mentally and cardiovascularlly, emotionally. Both my SI joints were trash. The OSS spine team and my hard head got me ready for D***y. 🤣 We were in Disney and I was a mere day away from starting my quest for that D***y Challenge medal. 6 medals in total(5k,10k,half marathon and full marathon).

2 years ago, I had a gameplan of how to complete the challenge and I executed to exactly how I wanted it. The support of friends and family was everything. It takes a ton of support to complete the training and then the races.

2 years later, I have not run a single mile since D***y. Both my SI joint have had 3 screws each put in. 7 weeks ago, had a cyst pushing on my spinal cord removed, L4-5 laminectomy and facetectomy. Avoided a fusion and want to keep it that way. Activity has been super low as I dealt with it all.

Does the eating disorder want to rear its stupid head? There are days. I usually don’t talk numbers. I don’t own a scale. I hate the scale. I only geton a scale for surgeries, epidural shots. I saw the number and let me tell ya….30lbs in 2 years is frightening.

I changed my hair. My body has changed. Mentally, I am still that person from 2 years ago. Having a granddaughter and being her Grams is so incredible and makes me smile every day. Even when she is screaming because Grams isn’t fast enough with the bottle, I smile and adore her.

I have spoken, at length, with my spine surgeon. Running can happen. Just look different and not marathon or D***y level…..for now. Soft surfaces, trails, track, treadmill. No pavement.

I accomplished D***y, after dreaming of it for years. Those attending Disney Marathon weekend are in taper crazyland and revamping running outfits for next weekend. Go and have so much fun and run with your heart!

I can’t wait to see where the next 2 years take me.

Real and authentic me. We were touring Sandals Royal Plantation. I did this whole video and guess what? I did NOT hit the record button correctly. I went to do it again and I was tired and my less than stellar self was being left in the dust. 🤪😂Hence the super weird and immediate cutoff.
