Started the first of 3 resort tours with a photo op with Elmo at Beaches Ocho Rios. Our fabulous guide, Darrell, provided us with Shirley Temples. Yummy and refreshing.

Those that know my story, know what the lotus flower means to me. It is embedded into my Phoenix tattoo. I can never pass up photographing lotus flowers. Ok, flowers in general.
The color and brightness of each flower is prettier than the next. Sandals Ochi and Sandals Royal Plantation both have incredible foliage and well taken care of. The grounds, at these 2 Sandals Resorts, stunning.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Good morning from Sandals Ochi Beach Resort! Starting the morning off just right. 😊
In our 1 bedroom butler pool room, we ordered room service. Being that we are on a business/education trip, we are not assigned a butler. They need to be present for the guests on honeymoons, anniversary, vacation. We DO have concierge level though.
Last night, we had turn down service. This included getting the bed ready. Setting the temperature and closing curtains. It was lovely to come back to all of this.
Today we are off to tour Sandals Ochi, Sandals Royal Plantation and a sales/social media meeting.
Today was BUSY!! Travel days are usually exhausting, for many people.
We were up at 4. On the road at 5am. BWI was “nutty” this morning.
Flight at 9am. Landed Montego Bay 11:25am. This is a one hour time change. They do not participate in Daylight Savings. Then customs/immigration.
Shuttle to Sandals Ocho was 90 minutes.
Cocktails at 6. Dinner at 7:30. And we are on “island time” now. Back to room 10pm. Shew. What a day.
Tomorrow, we hit the ground running.

Tonight, a little about me. If you are new here, I shall share my story.
I have been asked why I became a travel advisor.
In a previous previous life, I was a Registered Nurse. My background was ICU RN. I have my BSN and graduated college in 1994.
My next job title was RN and mom to 3 kiddos. Then I became full time mom for the next 16(ish) years. I was/am a marathoner. I love to run.
Somewhere in there, 2017 to be exact, I went down the deep dark path of an eating disorder fast and furious. I was hospitalized for an extended period of time. In May 2018, I was discharged and went to out patient for the foreseeable future. Today is my discharge anniversary.
In September 2018, my psychiatrist asked me what I like to do. My husband was with me as I was trying to go down the rabbit hole again. Eating disorders SUCK. His answer….she loves Disney and knows so much. My psychiatrist said…..”be a travel agent.” That little phrase opened up a whole new world. October 2018, a new job title was born…travel advisor.
I now have the tremendous honor of helping plan the perfect trip to add to countdown calendars.
I decided many months ago, the eating disorder stops with me. I may be on the DL due to 2 SI joint fusion surgeries. But I won’t allow an eating disorder to take away my joy of being a travel advisor, Grams, wife, mother and all other titles that were granted to me.
