We invite you to join us for a unique and memorable vacation. Llamaneering is a novel and comfortable mode of backcountry travel. Not only are our llamas great companions in camp and on the trail, they will carry all the necessary gear and amenities to provide you with a deluxe backcountry experience. With only a small daypack, you will be able to enjoy wilderness hiking and camping like never bef
ore. One guest compared his experience with llamas "like hiking with a gentleman". Strong and gentle, quiet and agile, llamas are the perfect companions. With their padded feet, extreme cleanliness, ability to browse and make use of any available vegetation, llamas have little impact on the environment. Their calm, gentle nature and beautiful faces make them great friends for kids. Our trips are the perfect family activity and children are welcome as long as they are able to keep up on the trail! Our expeditions are fully guided and scheduled for three to six days into Yellowstone National Park or the Jedediah Smith Wilderness (west side of the Tetons) ranging from easy to more strenuous hiking. We average 4-7 miles per day and our trips include layover days with options to fish, "climb" a nearby peak, or leisurely spend the day in camp embraced by the beauty and serenity of Mother Nature. Your guides will tend to camp chores, however you are always welcome to pitch in if you are so inclined. We provide all the necessary camping gear including tents and Thermarest sleeping pads. A recommended equipment list will be included with confirmation of your registration. We also provide hearty and wholesome meals along with trail snacks to keep you well nourished for each day's activities, starting with breakfast on day one through lunch on the final day of your expedition. You will be pleased with the fine cuisine that comes from our camp kitchen enhanced by fresh fruits and vegetables and always tasty baked goods.
