As the oldest ship in Disney’s fleet, why would anyone choose the Disney Magic? Let’s see...how much time do you have?

- First, Disney keeps their entire fleet in ship-shape, so you would never know the Magic is 26 years old! In fact, it went through a lengthy refurbishment just last year adding, among other features, the new Soul Cat Lounge and an expanded Concierge Lounge.
- But what Disney Cruise fanatics love most about the Disney Magic is the intimate size and cozy atmosphere. It’s a ship that’s easy to navigate and despite its comparatively smaller size to other ships, still offers all of the thrills and excitement of a Disney Cruise Line vacation. As an added bonus, the smaller the ship, the fewer the guests, making stops at Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point less crowded.

NEW BENEFIT ALERT! Everyone staying at a Walt Disney World resort in 2025 is going to have a REALLY “ICE” first day with this new benefit!

All guests of Walt Disney World on-property hotels will be able to visit either Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park (with or without a resort package) on their check-in date FOR FREE. Read that again, on their check-in date ONLY. This changes everything!

50's Prime Time Cafe is the kind of dining experience that can turn a bad day around or make a good day great! How could stepping into a 1950s kitchen with black-and-white retro TVs playing clips of old shows and cartoons be anything but a pick me up? Not only will this be a time travel experience, the comfort food on the menu is like a warm, retro hug. And sure, you can order a salad, but just know it’s OK to wash that down with one of their famous Peanut Butter and Jelly Milkshakes!

Beyond the attractions in Pandora-The World of Avatar, the stunning landscape and interactive plant life are what truly make this land unforgettable. (OK, maybe the Night Blossom drink, too.) From floating mountains to responsive flora and gorgeous waterfalls to tree drums, there’s so much to explore, photograph and touch! It truly is a wondrous land-one you don’t have to see either of the movies to totally fall in love with.

Did you hear? Disney Cruise Line’s new island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is open! Located on the Bahamian Island of Eluthera, this new port was developed with environmental protection and cultural inclusion at the forefront, so you’ll immediately notice a few differences from Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. For starters, the 1/2 mile long walk to the island is to preserve the natural reef. Now, if you’re no stranger to Walt Disney World, those steps won’t seem like much, but for some it could be a little daunting. It for sure changes how I recommend my clients pack and prepare for the day.

Can you answer this one? Today marks the anniversary of the NASA moon landing in 1969, an historic moment that’s captured in EPCOT’s iconic Spaceship Earth attraction. Of course this was a monumental achievement, but so much has happened in the last 55 years.
Here’s the question: If Disney were to refurbish Spaceship Earth as planned a few years ago, what more modern-day, newsworthy event or lifestyle change might replace this family-centric scene?

Six ships (more on the way), all the different stateroom categories, 2 gorgeous island destinations, dozens of itineraries, multiple ports...You know for a vacation that is THE DEFINITION of relaxation, the planning process can be stressful when you don’t have the time or energy to do the research. On this day in 1995 the dreamiest of all dreamy wedding chapels opened up at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. First off, has anyone gotten married here?! (Or been to a wedding here?) The closest I’ve come was SEEING a bride walking around there & my heart still melted. Is this a dream for anyone or one you have for your own princesses?

In celebration of Shark Awareness Day, let’s shine the spotlight on one of EPCOT’s hidden gems – Bruce's Sub House at EPCOT’s SeaBase! This JAWSome playground is themed after the wanna-be friendly shark from Finding Nemo. It’s packed with interactive elements to teach kids while they play. And, it’s got a pretty epic photo op! If REAL sharks are your thing, they’re here too. This pavilion is a giant indoor educational playground, but also has plenty of space to decompress, check emails (a reality for many these days), post photos or just sit.

Here’s a piece of Disneyland history that you might not have heard. Walt and Lillian Disney celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at the Golden Horseshoe just days before the official grand opening of the park in 1955! Through 1986, the popular Golden Horseshoe R***e stage show was performed here. (Think Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical R***e on a smaller scale.) Walt loved the wild west vaudeville show so much, he invited 300 people to attend the first official performance as part of an anniversary celebration!

Today, the Golden Horseshoe is a two-level quick service oasis in the heart of Frontierland serving typical theme park fare. At Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, the very similar Diamond Horseshoe is a sit-down restaurant serving the menu from
Liberty Tree Tavern.

Truthfully, anything wet will usually do for kids, but you deserve a pool that is just as exciting as the parks. Here’s why Stormalong Bay is hands-down the pool you’re looking for:
- It’s not just a pool, it’s a 3-acre mini-water park! A lazy river for you, a shipwreck waterslide for them. Win-Win!
- It has a SAND-BOTTOM! All the benefits of the beach, but without the saltwater.
- Poolside snacks and drinks from Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill mean you never have to leave - which is great because the kids won’t want to.

Can’t decide between Coronado Springs Resort proper and Gran Destino Tower? You really can’t go wrong with either, but let me help break it down for you by sharing a few details:
Coronado Springs Resort oozes a family-friendly Southwest charm and is divided into three distinct areas: Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas. Each building has up to 4 floors and the spacious rooms open to the outside in a motel-style fashion with most, if not all rooms having ceiling fans.
Gran Destino Tower is the luxurious counterpart with a more sophisticated, contemporary, Spanish inspired design. It has 16 floors, a rooftop lounge and restaurant and spacious (the largest of all Disney moderate resorts) modern rooms with upgraded amenities, but no ceiling fans.

Hey parents, listen to this! Just a little tip in case you didn’t know, there are a couple of opportunities for kids to enjoy free play (and even get wet) at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. I know the parks are giant playgrounds themselves, but there is the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station, the Adventureland Tiki sprayers and spitting camel at Magic Kingdom as well as the new Journey of Water inspired by Moana and splash pads at
EPCOT where getting drenched is bound to happen and be loads of fun.

If you only ever go down one more slide in your life, make it this one! The Oceaneer’s Club on the Disney Wish is accessible via an “Alice in Wonderland” themed slide. Here’s the catch, adults sailing on the Disney Wish, only have one chance to take advantage of sliding down the rabbit hole during the club’s Open House hours on embarkation day. So don’t hesitate if you want to channel your inner child. No worries, the stairs or elevators are always an option if slides don’t equal fun to you.

Do you know when Walt Disney World crowds can be the most manageable? During some of the hottest months of the year! If you can handle the heat, here are some of the best places and some ways to avoid as Mater says, “dang near fainting”:

- Connections Eatery at EPCOT: This place is massive and a great place to sit and regroup, AND it has Starbucks!

- Upper level of PizzeRizzo at Hollywood Studios: Did you know there was an upper level?! There’s usually not many people up there, it’s nice and cool, there are lots of outlets to recharge your devices, and pizza!

- Cooling neck towels: A lifesaver when the sun is bearing down and moods are starting to wilt.

- A solid touring strategy: Rope drop, rest mid-day, come back for evenings (and schedule a table-service lunch for a break during the hottest time of day)
