🌊 We’re thrilled to share that Impactrip played a key role in the installation of the first Eco Container for marine waste in Omiš as part of the "From River to the Sea - Let's Be Plastic Free" initiative! 🌍

This container will be a vital tool for our Marine Conservation volunteers during their ocean cleanup efforts. 🧗‍♀️🫶This amazing group had an unforgettable experience hiking the beach!

Together, we made a significant impact by collecting a total of 15-20 kg of trash. It was fun, fulfilling, and so rewarding to see the difference we made.

They were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and great company, while leaving the beach cleaner and better than they found it 🌊❤️

High Vulnerability - Many arrive with limited resources and support networks.

Social Isolation - Without a community, it's hard to build a new life in a foreign land.

GREEN : : : Gathering Recycling Economic and Employment for Inclusion young people : : :
is a project funded by the Erasmus+ program, that aims to introduce Circular Economy to young adults and showcase the exciting entrepreneurial opportunities within this field. ♻️

🌿This project is built on the belief that Circular Economy is the future for the youth, and our goal is to launch an online platform featuring an e-learning course designed to ignite creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The first 10 volunteers, willl have the exclusive opportunity to test and provide feedback on this groundbreaking course.👩‍💻

🌍Impactrip is one of the partners that are working with GREEN, in order to establish the best practices on Circular Economy in Portugal, Greece and Guadalupe (France).

Already, some of our volunteers at Impactrip have dived into the GREEN project by participating in an upcycling program. From transforming plastic bottle caps into skateboards to crafting paddle tennis rackets and beach paddles, every action contributes to a greener, more sustainable future.🛹

Thankfully many organizations take care of basic needs that should be covered for these vulnerable people such as food, water and clothes. 🍔🧣

However, in order to battle this challenge and get back on their feet, this vulnerable people need governmental support, guidance, and access. 💪

⚠️In less than 8 months, humanity has exhausted Earth's budget for the year ⚠️

🔺What Is It? It means that for the rest of the year, we are expanding our ecological deficit by using up local resources and pumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

⚠️We are operating in overshoot.⚠️

♻️ Plenty of solutions exist in 5 major areas for improving Sustainability:
📍 Planet📍Cities 📍Energy 📍Food 📍Population.

💪 What are we doing for the:

🌎Planet: We support several NGO´s that are committed with Reforestation and Cleaning of forests, Protection of the Ocean and the Improvement of sea life;🐢

🚲🚌Cities: We promote the use of public transports to all volunteers and staff and we prompt all volunteers to compensate for their flight emissions.

♻️Energy: Our accommodations in several destinations use Reusable energy to power our hostels.

🥗Food: We support several NGO´s that are committed with fighting food waste and for our accommodations we only shop local products, implemented veggie friday and control the food waste by donating food and composting.

👩‍🏫Population: We support several NGO´s that are committed with empowerment of women - “SDG 5 Gender Equality” which calls for ending all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere.

Restore and Rebuild Challenge: Healing Our Forests 🌳🔥

In light of the devastating wildfires that have impacted Greece, Portugal and Spain due to high temperatures, it's crucial for us to come together and take action to restore our forests and support the affected communities. Join us in this challenge to contribute to the recovery efforts and protect our environment:

1. 🌱 Forest Cleanup: Organize a visit to a fire-affected forest or natural area. Coordinate with local authorities or environmental organizations to ensure a safe and effective cleanup operation. Remove debris, clear paths, and restore the natural beauty of the area. Share your experience and encourage others to get involved in restoring our precious forests.

2. 🌿 Tree Planting: Connect with local NGOs or initiatives that focus on tree planting and reforestation efforts. Participate in their tree planting events or organize one yourself. Planting new trees is a meaningful way to replenish the forest's vitality and restore habitats for wildlife. Share your tree planting experience, educate others about the importance of reforestation, and inspire them to take action.

EMBRACE THE BEACH CLEANUP CHALLENGE! 🙌🚮

Did you know beach pollution affects more than 800 species of wildlife around the world?
When you pick up that one piece of litter at the beach, that means one less piece of litter could end up in the ocean. Beach cleanups work in the same way, but can make a bigger difference.

1. ⏰Spend up to 30 minutes at the beach: At some point this week, spend some time at the beach enjoying the sunshine and ocean!!

2. 🏖️Do a beach cleanup: While you're soaking up the sun, keep any eye out for any litter you see and properly dispose of it in the correct bins.

3. 📸Send us pictures of what you found: We'd love to see how your beach cleanups go, so send us pictures during your cleanup and then after send us what you found!!

Share your experiences, tips, and insights during our Sharing Circle. Together, let's discover the rejuvenating benefits of beach cleanups while making a positive impact on our environment.

Our Story

ImpacTrip is a social business internationally certified as B-Corp that promotes Responsible Travel Experiences in Portugal, Spain and Croatia. Founded in 2015 by two dedicated social entrepreneurs that want to change the way people travel, ImpacTrip aims at combining the best of travel with a positive social and environmental impact. We really want travelers to have the most unique and meaningful travel experiences. We offer short-term Travel Experiences across three different countries that allow you and other responsible travelers to connect with the locals, experience the culture and contribute in a positive way to the local communities. We also offer long-term volunteer programs in which you can dedicate 1 to 12 weeks volunteering for local non-profits for a specific cause while meeting people from all over the world. Since 2015 we've received people from over 60+ different nationalities that contributed with over 40.000 hours of volunteer work to support over 350 non-profits.
