We are very saddened to hear about the passing of our beloved friend & colleague Mohamed Bassiouni, who accompanied us on many of our desert expeditions throughout the years. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace.

We awakened to the first rays of sunlight shimmering across the horizon. We are camping on the Mediterranean west of Matrouh with an amazing group, and the view here is spectacular. This is the perfect start of the day!

In collaboration with our dear friend Mervet Azmi Desert Travels, we invite you on a unique end-of-summer camping journey to a hidden beach gem on the Mediterranean & the Great Sea of Sand in Siwa this September!

Join us for a trip that will feature two very different landscapes: the beach and the desert. After we spend three days on a beautiful lagoon on the Mediterranean, west of Marsa Matrouh, we'll head into the dunes of the Great Sea of Sand in Siwa to camp for two nights in the open desert and visit the oasis. We'll then return to our base on the beach for the final days of our trip to relax before heading back home.

We chose this time of the year for its optimal weather conditions: lower temperature & humidity, clear & warm seawater, and the wild birds' migration season are just a few reasons why this trip will be memorable.

Dates: 15-22 September 2022 (7 nights - 8 days)
