I had a student leave their wallet at Ed Debevic's tonight. I walked from Cadillac Palace to Ed's and back. This is some of what I saw. I love my city!

This was the first year I had a group during Open House Chicago. Fortunately, I was able to catch a couple of sites yesterday, with Micah. These are just a few shots of St Peter's Catholic Church, located on 22nd St, in Little Village. Originally built for a German congregation, it reminds me a bit of the twin spired cathedral of Cologne. It is famed for not having a single nail used, in its construction.
As I scrolled through all the OHC sites, I was blown way by the fact that this year featured 42 houses of worship. It is a reminder just how important faith in God was, to those that came before us. More pics to come.

One of the things I really enjoy about my industry is working with performance groups. This is the string orchestra of Armstrong HS, out of MN.

Does anyone remember the Smith Museum of Stained Glass? It was at Navy Pier, for 14 years. Great news! It is being reconstituted,at least in part, right now. Driehaus Enterprises is undertaking this endeavor and hopes to have it up within the week. Stay tuned for more details!

Today, in 1809, Abraham Lincoln was born at Sinking Springs, Hodgenville Kentucky. These photos are from my annual tour on the life of the 16th President. Inside the classical building is a recreation of the birth home. the bottom picture is the actual sunken spring that the Lincolns used.
Happy 215th birthday, Mr President!

When I am exploring ideas for new tours, my family often accompanies me. We had a great day down exploring Pullman National Historical Park. While it is still in early stages, what has been accomplished so far is amazing. I see this national park, one of the smallest in the system, as being a catalyst for change not only in Pullman, but West Pullman and Roseland. I will be offering tours to Pullman, beginning in March. I urge all Chicagoans specifically to visit Pullman. It's an important part of history and it will get you out of your comfort zone.
