🎢Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will close temporarily for a major refurbishment in early 2025!
🏁This closure is not just routine maintenance, but part of an even larger project to prepare for the highly anticipated expansion that will bring Villains Land and Cars Land to the park.
As part of this development, the area surrounding ⛰️Big Thunder Mountain will undergo significant transformations. The Villains Land will be dedicated to some of Disney’s most infamous characters, creating a darker, immersive area where fans can step into the world of their favorite Disney antagonists. Meanwhile, Cars Land, inspired by the popular Pixar film franchise, will bring the charm of Radiator Springs and thrilling car-themed attractions to the Magic Kingdom.
Though the closure of Big Thunder Mountain will be disappointing for fans, the ride is expected to receive updates that will enhance its connection to the new themed lands. Disney has not yet provided an exact reopening date, but the ride is expected to return in time for the launch of the expanded park areas. The additions of Villains Land and Cars Land represent a bold new chapter in Magic Kingdom’s evolution, offering a blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge experiences for future guests.
