It takes a village...but with families spread out and friends who are busy, many new parents feel isolated. I offer a customizable experience for new families, helping with whatever they are needing at the moment. This includes breastfeeding education, sleep issues (including overnight shifts), sibling transition, general newborn care, cooking and light household chores, pumping and bottle feeding
, cloth diapering, and baby wearing. If you are expecting, please feel free to contact me and we can put together a plan so that you can enjoy a worry-free and rested postpartum experience!

The choice to breastfeed is the mother’s and families.
If the mother is well and has only been exposed or is a PUI (person under investigation) with mild symptoms, breastfeeding is a very reasonable choice and diminishing the risk of exposing the infant to maternal respiratory secretions with use of a mask, gown and careful handwashing is relatively easy.
If the mother has COVD-19, there may be more worry, but it is still reasonable to choose to breastfeed and provide expressed milk for her infant. Limiting the infant’s exposure via respiratory secretions may require more careful adherence to the recommendations depending on the mother’s illness.

I have availability for the fall! Currently accepting one mid-August (or later) due date for daytime postpartum help, or one mid-September (or later) due date for 1-2 postpartum overnights per week.
I also have a postpartum tuck in option for those who may just want one session to get settled, ask questions, and get their bearings after they arrive home with baby!

When I became a doula almost 7 years ago, I had very few moms doing this...now I have a lot more who take 30-40 days after birth to heal, rest, bond with baby, and not much else. In our busy world it seems crazy, but it is such a special thing to take this time with your baby.
